If you want a decent adult history book, Ian Mortimer's Time Traveller Guide series' are brilliant. He has this Medieval one, Elizabethan and Restoration. They're not necessarily Kings and Queens, rather every day life, which I find scintillating. Very accessible reads.

Yeah it's the good shit. Obviously politics, war and power have a time and place, but once you have a rough timeline, I want to be able to visualise the world they lived in.

I got excited when I found the grave sites and death dates of my great grandparents on my mum's side. then we got into my dad's side and the scandal kicked in.

I read and re-read this so much as a child that it was FALLING APART.
I also added other minor royals to the family tree.
Definitely a child that needed to get out more.
