Morning!

It's delivery day and my first slot is the highly helpful "7am - 11am" so here I am.

On the plus side, it's pissing it down anyway. Plus, once my new mattress arrives, I can go for a nap. :disco:

On the negative side, I need to flytip an old mattress later. :shy:

Oh it's MISERABLE outside, I'm on a bus to work and sort of want to just stay on after my stop so I'm not outdoors :o
 
It’s lovely and sunny here, am just at the gym and about to go for a swim.

I’ve only just got in from work and realised that I’ll be spending my one day off back at work getting a vaccine but OH WELL :D

It's lovely on the island today, but I'm sad because the leaves on the trees in my garden are all going brown, and that means summer is over :(

I'm also now on holiday for 10 days and off to Cornwall tomorrow. First time I've left Heathcliff since he's been poorly 😬🤞
 
I’m quite pleased the summer is on the way out - the last typhoon seems to have blasted it away. 3 months of 30+ degree humid days and nights, now it’s more like 25 with a breeze :disco:
 
Eurgh. Up and ready for work, for the first time in a week and it doesn't look like there's anything for me today. There was one offer but that would take almost FOUR HOURS if I left now(!).

Oh well, back to bed.

I've even got my lovely new tie clip on.
 
I think this no central heating until October rule is going to be tested this weekend.

I was already off work from tomorrow until next Wednesday with a training course planned for today, but that course was cancelled yesterday, so I've taken today as well. He's off as well, so think we'll go for a wander.

Morning octy, maybe the matress seller can take the old back to recycle or sth? Or maybe your city council offers a heavy objects disposal & recycling service?
There could also be charity groups that collect unwanted stuff clean and donate to people in need.

I was kidding about the flytipping; it's getting picked up tomorrow.
 
I am nowhere near central heating level yet. I’m amazed anyone is. But then we rarely have it on until it’s properly Baltic anyway and then it’s an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening.
 
I'm very much a pop-a-jumper/hoodie on first. Only then will I consider the heating and I'll still just heat the room I'm in.

I quite enjoy the cold at night. It encourages me to bed earlier, apart from anything else.

Well me too. Though I still sleep with the windows open and my feet outside the duvet all year round.
 
Good morning Moopy. Today I entered the last year of my 40’s now let’s try and make it count. :disco: I am heading out for a meal, and some wine with the kids tonight which my daughter has insisted she will pay for and my son got me the most beautiful locket necklace with a picture of him in one half, and Shannon in the other. I may have cried a little.

Update: old mattress is now being picked up today and I've just successfully built a Kallax. This won't mean much for most of you but it's about all I can do not to just open the window and shout "I AM FUNCTIONING!".

Bless you. It’s my 49th Birthday today, so yes. This time next year I will hopefully be somewhere hot celebrating my 50th with all my nearest and dearest.

I made Mandy build our kallax unit. It seemed far too complicated for me.
