Thursday sits and waits...

We're off to The Ivy for lunch

I know it's NOT WHAT IT WAS, but it still feels delightfully self indulgent for a weekday lunch for no particular reason

How bad was The Typhoon? I feel like we didnt hear much about it because of a dead woman.
It dumped a lot of water on kyushu in the south west, but instead of travelling all the way up the banana-like main island it went a bit further north, so Osaka barely had anything

The amount of times I now walk into a room and shout “why is this light on when nobody is in here?” suggests if not yours, then definitely mine.

I have 100% become the middle aged parent I dreaded.

I have a busy day at work and then I'm going to the Elton John concert tonight with my parents

Happy Birthday REET!

Building a CD tower now. I haven't felt this butch since I made two lucky consecutive pots playing pool in 1998. 🤨

They’re showing Bake Off, maybe season 2, on NHK - but they are breaking them into 2 parts per episode - they’ve just finished making the technical bake but just abruptly stopped before the judging :D wtf

My mum has been round so I can show her the new heathcliff routine. He has an automatic feeder to make sure he eats enough. She couldn't even work out what clockwise was on the feeder 😭

Is it not the equivalent of those LOUNGES gracing just about every provincial town these days ?

Essentially

Just with huge floral and botanic art instead of all those framed portraits

I was never any use at pool, I just remember that one time I got one lucky shot and all of a sudden it was SERIOUS BUSINESS. I then got another and a hush descended. I found the sudden shift in mood so funny, I flunked the next shot cos I was laughing. Not because I wasn;t any good, you understand...

:argh: You know when you have a nice day, and then the last person you meet before leaving work p*sses you off
Totally. The number of times the day is drawing to a reasonable close and then you have to deal with an utter buffoon. Total day-ruiner.

I am getting ready to go to a lovely Italian restaurant to stuff myself silly whilst glugging my way through the wine menu.
