HOOP CLENCHINGLY COLD when I went to the gym this morning*

*- just in time for my gym crush to walk past me and see me getting in the car to drive literally 500 yards to the gym because I have an MOT straight after and NOW HE THINKS I’M JUST THAT LAZY :(

Still in bed. All I can hear is the sound of neighbours scraping ice off their windscreens. It really isn't encouraging me to get up.

Yeah it was my first noticeable defrost- I say noticeable as I don’t usually use the car in the morning and was away during the last spell of cold weather.

I slept with the window open last night, I regretted that at 3am.

I'm off for mulled wine and cake soon

Are you sporting your carabiner?
I don't have one :( I could steal one of Mandy's but hers might already have attracted other lesbians and I don't want her sloppy seconds.

Today I’m learning about lesbian culture

As much as winter and the dark nights can GET TO FUCK my view of the frost rooftops and steam rising from buildings in the low winter sun is quite pretty this morning.

Still, being ready for bed at 4pm is wank.

I've bought a really big beer fridge for my new office- mainly because I wanted a beer fridge, but wanted to use it as a piece of furniture (put the coffee machine, kettle on top etc) rather than a little one. It's arrived today and it's REALLY FUCKING NOISY.

It settles down, right? Anyone worked in a bar to know?

(I've asked chatgpt and all sorts of online things but no one seems to say much...)

It will use more energy getting to the correct temperature than it will to maintain it, so it will be noisier to start with.

If you've just turned it on, I wouldn't worry. If you have had it on overnight, I would.

I think fridges in general are quite loud when you’ve only just plugged them in as they are actively cooling the space. Once it has reached temperature I would expect it to be quieter.

It seems to already be at the right temperature, though...

There's a bit where it WHIRRS and the fans seem to be cooling and then there's just a general WHIRRING underneath that. Not ENTIRELY sure what that's doing.

I mean, it is a big old commercial three door fridge, but I would never expect it to be this LOUD.

The fact its empty means it has to work harder to keep the space cold. Get it stocked pronto.

Once the contents are at a constant cold temperature they essentially 'store' the cold and the compressor will kick in less. The compressor will sound more like a motor running though, if its a fan type noise Its possible the fan kicking in is to take away heat from the condenser, but again thats because its working harder because its empty.

It says in the instructions it's the opposite- you should keep the fridge empty until it's all settled etc.

And yes, there's two noises- a motor style noise and a fan noise. The motor type noise seems constant and then a fan noise kicks in intermittently/ after I've left the door open (I might have these the wrong way round...).

It's driving me INSANE :D

Omg I'm just with my friend and she just a 78 for her Masters.

Not work tomorrow!

Teddy swims has pulled out of Isle of Wight Festival next year 😭
