FIFTEEN/TEN

Although she still has much better in her catalogue to my mind.

AMAZING. It's all about the dramatic backing vocals.

But her two major French hits are EVEN BETTER.

I can't believe she's forty in that second video. What an absolutely stunning woman.

Her gig in Paris is one of the best gigs I have EVER been to, and I've been to a lot of gigs.

Agreed with everything said so far.

It's definitely a 10/10 moment but she's got other songs in her catalogue that are easily 11's.

Saw her live in Sydney a few years ago and she was simply amazing.

I'm only really familiar with the In Deep album - are there 11s on there IYO?

I like lots of it but for me nothing comes close to this MASTERPIECE

Is that the one with her cover of 'Whistle Down The Wind' on it? That is an INCREDIBLE vocal.

It wasn't on my version but Spotify says yes. I need to explore her back cat clearly.

Are the Love & Loss albums any good?

dub I put a link in Tina's bag of chains for selections from the Love & Loss albums if you want to check them out.

"In Deep" is my fave album from her though "Just Me" comes close. From ID I'd say "Sixteen years", "In command" and the piano version of "Burn" are all 11's.

My Tina top ten... (Although I don't know everything by any means...)

1. Aimer Jusqu'a l'impossible
2. Aller Plus Haut
3. Never (Past Tense)
4. Chains
5. Whistle Down The Wind
6. Tu aurais dû me dire (Oser parler d'amour)
7. Show Me Heaven
8. Sorrento Moon (I Remember)
9. Je M'Appelle Baghdad
10. Soulmate #9

Never (Past Tense) really should have been a bigger hit

Burn (Piano Version) & I Want To Know What Love Is are my 11s from that album.

In Deep is amazing too though. Symphony Of Life is definitely an 11.

'Aller Plus Haut' and 'Aimer...' are definitely my two favourites of her entire catalogue. They were both properly enormous hits in France. I think APH is the 300th best seller of all time or something.

Whistle Down The Wind and Live For The One I Love are both incredible vocals. In fact, the whole Notre Dame De Paris album is worth a listen just for her vocals. 'The Birds They Put In Cages' is particularly good.

I have a real soft spot for her version of 'Show Me Heaven' too. I much prefer it to the original, just because I love her voice so much.

The Love & Loss albums are what they are... a bit schmaltzy but worth it if you like her voice. I really like her 'I Only Want To Be With You' and 'Everybody Hurts'.

I do like this borderline shambolic awards show performance of Aimer Jusq'a l'impossible with a variety of French divas. (Anngun, Natasha St.Pier, Amel Bent... a load of others I've NEVER heard of).

I think I may prefer "Les Trois Cloches" when it comes to her French stuff.

RB do you have the Euro or the Australian version of "In Deep"?

"Symphony Of Life" is one of my least liked songs of hers, that and "God Only Knows" are what stop "Just Me" being her best album, everything else on there is a 9 or more track. "Woman", "But I lied" and "Tangled" are my top 3, all 11's

I'll sort that this afternoon, will bung in some extras too

Thank you, but see above! I was being thick. Would be great if you could sort out the extras and 'Just Me' though! :basil:

The choral version of Aller Plus Haut, as recommended by you good people of Moopy has been on NON STOP since I got it last week. Properly obsessed.

Yeah I saw it, will do JM so later and any extras I can get hold of.

"Now I Can Dance" is another underrated gem.

I came on to start a post about Tina but found this one already. I've recently acquired her whole back catalogue (including the original 1990 version of Strong as Steel) and I am working my way through them. I was a bit of a Tina LOON in 1995 from when Chains originally came out, and bought all the CD singles and albums from "Don't Ask" and "In Deep" but then she fizzled out over here and I lost track of her career, though I did have some of the songs from "Just Me" - I had NO IDEA of any of her French stuff at all.

I've fallen back in love with her again - what an OUTSTANDING vocalist she is, I remember losing my SHIT to this performance on TOTP back in 1995.

I think she is highly underrated, because she hasn't really been huge worldwide. her vocals just seem so efforttless, especially on this performance of Whistle Down The Wind (love her reaction at the end)

She also seems to still have the VOX at 45 according to this live recording from one of her gigs this year:

I would love to see her live!

Love a bit of Shouse, though it all often leaks into one for me. But this is rather good.
