Tina Turner - Missing You

In honour of one of @Iguana's favourite albums turning the big 3-0, what do we think of Tina's version of an 80s number one (which ironically knocked Tina's 'What's Love Got To Do With It' off the top spot at the time).

I think it's gorgeous and the video is

Love Tina, but this is fairly redundant IMO.

She has an unusually high ratio of covers in her catalogue, but to be fair she pulls it off. She has a knack of always making a song her own.

Love this. My favourite story about it is when my neighbour in the '90s wanted to use it as the "send off" song at a relative's funeral because she thought it would be lovely.

I almost wish we hadn't pointed out that the chorus goes "I AIN'T MISSING YOU AT ALL"

Still, I think my favourite ballad on the album is On Silent Wings. It's just gorgeous and so expansive and wistful

And I always thought it was about the wings of her mansions rather than something angelic.
