I got this on the same day I bought Dance Hall at Louse Point and this is very much dance hall at the 10 point. Could not believe the campaign seemed to start and end with this over here at least. It's a mega bop.
 
I enjoyed it at the time, but it was a bit too mumbly for me.

It's a bizarre world we live in where Toni Braxton is probably an afterthought at most to the vast majority of people, while others became MEGASTARS.
 
I know she had a lot of financial issues, even WHEN she was charting well. I think she had awful management.

I know Secrets was the ultimate SULTRY GEM album and the absolute peak of 90s bedroom R&B (which sounds niche but was everywhere for most of the decade) and also very well constructed - almost a concept album

But speaking of things we don’t talk about enough - the debut album is absolutely pop-R&B perfection. I mean if you were to combine those two main genres this album would be one of the ULTIMATE choices. And it’s also one of the few albums in my collection without a SINGLE skippable track.
