I remember fully expecting Circus to peak at least as high as Womanizer it screamed hit to me, was shocked when it stalled outside of the top 10. I think though, had it been the first single it would have been top 5.

I recall them delaying the single release a bit too long therefore compromising its peak (@Devil to confirm)? It hung around for a bit. It was a proper hit in America and has managed 400+ million streams on Spotify.
 
This is much harder than the Christina one. I guess Britney really did win.

Yeah, the early days of on air on sale I guess as the week the album came out it ended up charting, but it was still about 8 weeks until they properly pushed the single.

It did spend 6 weeks top twenty and three months top 40 so it was a nice hit, just never got that nice peak.
