Father Figure
I Knew You Were Waiting For Me

That one much harder - I could swap out 2 or 3 more from the Older album alone.

Fastlove (original and Forthright remix)
Spinning That Wheel
Father Figure (original and Forthright remix)
The Strangest Thing
Older or Kissing A Fool or Careless Whisper or

I screamed at the idea of a Father Figure Forthright mix :o but I can't find it on YouTube or Spotify?

Are you thinking of Spinning The Wheel?

Oh yes I meant to copy that for Spinning the Wheel. But I YEARN for Father Figure (forthright mix)

Nooo, Father Figure is perfect as it is in the album version. I think I'd hate a remix of it.

Own songs:

Cowboys And Angels
Father Figure
Jesus To A Child
Precious Box
Waiting For That Day

Cover versions:

Going To A Town
I Can't Make You Love Me
Killer / Papa Was A Rolling Stone
Somebody To Love
Song To The Siren

He's probably my most missed artist. I'd love to hear what he'd be putting out in his 60s. It's incredible that he never lost his voice despite everything.

Miss Sarajevo is my favourite George cover. Me initially dismissing the SFTLS album is when I came to realise that you never underestimate this man.

I felt the same upon release. Didn't it come out at Christmas which made it feel like even more of a cash-in?

It's actually rather wonderful. Miss Sarajevo, Brother Can You Spare A Dime, You've Changed and Wild Is The Wind are my favourites. Secret Love and My Baby Just Cares For Me are the ones I'd skip.

George was so articsically powerful when he pushed out (I'm sure at his own insistence) Freeek and Outside.

He did not have to care at all about having chart hits at that stage.

Spinning the Wheel (Forthright Mix)
Strangest Thing
Flawless (Go To The City)

Obviously it was about George tottering off for a cruise on Hampstead Heath, and about how he was missing Anselmo through all of all the fun he was having :(

So the words you could not say
I'll sing them for you
And the love you would have made
I'll make it for two

Fastlove really was a fantastic and deeply accessible stomp about cruising.

Always had respect for George, was sad at how it all panned out. As with most of his peers, the older I get the heavier I lean towards the early stuff. I think:

Faith
Father Figure
One More Try
Praying for Time
A Different Corner

Can never really decide which is my actual fave from the first four tho.
