Astonishing that a MASSIVE FUCKING AIRPORT is reliant on a single source of power.

I'm sure it's not quite as literal as that, but where's the BACK UP?

When they found that unexploded bomb on the Eurostar and closed it down the other week, all I could think was how many times I’ve gleefully zipped past it like this.

My friend was supposed to fly to Azerbaijan today :o He says it’s been delayed until 10pm tomorrow, but was only going to be a short trip.
 
The people I feel sorry for are not the stranded holidaymakers we're going to see splashed all over the media.

It's the poor evacuated homeless residents of Hayes, whom after all of this has been cleared up, still have to remain in Hayes.

It looks like a beast of a quake and I anticipate a fairly high death toll.

I appreciate that neither country expects major earthquakes, but the infrastructure looks pretty poor, even in Bangkok.
 
Christ, it was actually an 8.2 quake. Somewhat less surprised about the scale of it now.

Genuinely expect much of Mynamar to be in ruins.
