Tove Lo - Dirt Femme (deluxe)

I'm having a second wind with No One Dies From Love. a fucking great pop song.

really looking forward to waking up tomorrow and being SERVED by miss tove

Call On Me and Suburbia are two seriously dead eyes bangers :D

Attention Whore is absolutely massive

Suburbia :disco:

Some marvellous songs on this album. I liked all the singles but Tove really did keep some of the juiciest stuff back.

True Romance still deserves nothing more than being left at a bus stop and forgotten about though :eyes:

I never gave a shit about her before, but this album sounds immense.

It's her best album since Lady Wood for me. (I'm still furious at Moopy for dismissing that album when I was championing it back in the day :D )

I’m obsessed with this

08 No One Dies From Love
15 Suburbia - this song is my therapy but also is going to cause me to need therapy
10 2 Die 4 - hot
06 True Romance
10 Grapefruit - same as what I said for Suburbia
08 Cute and Cruel - cute
10 Call on Me - banger
09 Attention Whore - banger
10 Pineapple Slice - :disco: :D
09 I’m To Blame - needs more listens but it might become a favorite
08 Kick In The Head
10 How Long

I don’t remember her other albums (other than the first) so I need to investigate

Lady Wood is her (pre Dirt Femme) apex. After that her whole thing started to sound a wee bit tired - though not without its highlights. She pleasingly seems to have branched out a bit on this one, without losing the core of what she’s always been about.

Obsessed with it too. Grapefruit and Suburbia are really very special.

I think Sunshine Kitty was a good album but she sounded really content in her usual sonic playground. a little stagnation. she's obviously really gone for it this time and consciously upped her artistry and I LOVE that for her.

it's not normal for pop artists to still be putting this much effort in five albums deep and doing some of their best work. and yes, to experience Attention Whore while very blazed is :disco:

Ok but we're waiting for you in the Corrs thread.

On a Lady Wood tip, I’m really back into True Disaster at the moment. An outrage that it wasn’t a hit.

Lady Wood is still her best, but BLUE LIPS is rather underrated (never hear it mentioned here, or anywhere). "disco tits", "stranger", "cycles", "9th of october", "bad days" and my favorite, "hey you got drugs" are all great. It's a perfect late fall/winter album too, takes me right back to 2017.

Blue Lips is popular on Popjustice I believe but yeah she still hasn't topped Lady Wood. Truly an ALBAM.

Tove top ten:

1. Habits (Stay High)
2. True Disaster
3. Cool Girl
4. No-One Dies From Love
5. disco tits
6. Imaginary Friend
7. Lady Wood
8. Keep It Simple
9. Heroes
10. Time Bomb

Grapefruit and Suburbia are too new but will definitely enter my rankings soon.

I really feel like the remix version of Stay High being the version UK Radio went with did her a lot of harm in terms of her being seen as an artist.

The original was the hit in the USA and she had much more success there with her subsequent singles.

Yes Suburbia is just PERFECT

Did we know our girl Tove is probably making MINT thanks to songwriting royalty cheques from Love Me Like You Do, Something New, and some Hilary Duff album tracks :basil: (probably)

2. Talking Body
3. Cool Girl
4. Influence
5. Moments
6. Bitches
7. Jacques (Jax Jones feature)
9. disco tits
10. Desire (Feat. Years and Years)

Special mention: Close (Feat. Nick Jonas), hey you got drugs?, True Disaster

I wouldn't go that far. "Talking Body" was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic (certified Platinum in the UK despite mediocre peak) and her chart success kind of went off the rails after that in the USA too. "Cool Girl" barely charted.

How on earth is Talking Body her highest certified single in UK? That has to be a mistake… :D

1. True Disaster
2. Hey You Got Drugs?
3. Thousand Miles
4. Flashes
5. Disco Tits
6. Stranger
7. Talking Body
8. Influence
9. Habits (Stay High)
10. Moments

I like the new album too - still have to let it marinate but "Grapefruit", "Suburbia", "2 Die 4", "Call on Me", "Attention Whore" and "Cute & Cruel" are early favorites.
