Gappy birthday to me! My crown fell off again.

Spawn's coming for a visit today but refusing to bring SoS with her because there was Covid in my office last week and my daughter is a hysterical, overprotective mother. She hasn't realised that on the incredibly slim chance I am carrying Covid without any symptoms whatsoever I'm going to give it to her and she'll pass it on when she goes home. Not bitter about it, honest.

I finally have a day off from fudge!

Turns out, people love garlic fudge.

Yesterday in the shop the twattish woman above us changed the cistern in her toilet and didn't turn the water off so it flooded our shop. When mandy went to speak to her to get her details for the insurance claim, she refused to give them and grabbed Mandy's arm and pushed her.

Meanwhile, a random abusive, drunk homeless man turned up screaming abuse at anyone that walked past him.

Cowes is usually such a nice town :(

Even the Isle of Wight is going to the DOGS.

The woman lives in the flat above your shop? Does she own the flat? Of course she is liable. As it clearly came from her property she doesn’t have a leg to stand on.

Or was it always a bit ROUGH?
No it's always been lovely and Cowes is one of the nicest towns on the island, full of sailors and second home owners. But because it had money it seems to attract mainland homeless gangs 🤦🏻‍♀️

No turns out she was the cleaner. The whole building is owned by a lovely couple who are our landlords.

The flat above is owned by someone who rents it our via booking.com. Crazy lady was the cleaner.

But it turns out our landlords didn't know the owner was renting the flat as a holiday let so the insurance is invalid and we can't claim anyway 🤦🏻‍♀️

Why did she get so angry if she was only in cleaning? Surely she should have just said it’s nothing to do with her and directed Mandy to the owner. :D

Apparently she's known to be mental and a bitch. I assume she's friends with the owner and they know they shouldn't be renting the property out. But yes you would think that would be the adult way to behave.

She didn't even apologise, just said "turn your lights off and go home while it dries out" 🤦🏻‍♀️

Flooding a shop that sells food with water from her bathroom sounds too serious to get away with it just by pushing Mandy away.

Fortunately it didn't get anywhere near any food. Just poured through our lights onto the floor and till. We keep all the food covered/off the ground. But still. An apology would have been nice!

Anyway, police turned up and she then told them Mandy assaulted her. It was all very ridiculous.

@Rachey any more spotting of the free sample woman?
No not since I last reported. I'm expecting to see her soon. She tends to appear out of school holidays.

I never knew a fudge shop could be so exciting.

You can't claim from the insurance company, but you will still be able to claim from the owners of the flat personally.

Good to know. We just need to find out who the owner is. Apparently she lives on the mainland.

Don't know if it works the same way, once my grandmother had a leakage problem in her taverna wall from a neighbor who wouldn't fix his plumbing and long story short there was some health and sanitation office that supervised places people eat that forced him to fix the leak and restore my grandmother's wall.

What a psycho bitch. Did the police just leave it at that?

Well they said they need to follow it up because assault has been reported, but they have no idea how to get this woman's details.

Well we have contacted the letting agent asking them to get it sorted by a professional plumber so we shall see what happens.

For God sakes. It’s going to be one persons word against the other. What a waste of police time, especially when it was Mandy that was manhandled and pushed. SOME PEOPLE.

Happy birthday lovely @floppet, hope you have a nice day even if you don't get to see SoS. Surely there must be something wrong with the crown if it's fallen off twice?? :o

Well Mandy basically said she's not going to take it further because it's a waste of everyone's time if this woman is saying she assaulted her. But the police now won't drop it.

It did take me a few minutes to work out what sos meant. I couldn’t get past spawn of satan but am assuming it’s spawn of spawn?

They likely will eventually. Although is crime not quite low on the IoW? If so, they may make a song and dance out of it. 🤦‍♀️

Commercial leases are a bit different so you might be liable, depends on what you agreed, but a lot of the time its signed over so that the tenant is fully responsible for repair and insure :(

That said, you'll probably have business insurance that would cover it.
