You're probably about 20 years too young for this, but there's a nice National Trust house and gardens at Cotehele, a few miles from Calstock.

And just a few miles further on from there, a really nice walk, from Mount Edgcumbe house and park to those coastal villages I mentioned, Kingsand and Cawsand. It's only about an hour and reasonably hilly, but it takes in woodland and beautiful views over Plymouth Sound. And a few fine pubs at the end - The Rising Sun in Kingsand is my favourite.

We don’t have too many set plans as things are. My grandparents are in Devon at the minute so we’re meeting halfway at a beach on Thursday (not sure which one though) and my sister + boyfriend are joining us next week.

You're ideally located to hit Devon while you're there. Well, South Devon anyway. You'd have to circumnavigate Dartmoor to get to North Devon.

I missed that album at the time. Found it in a Canadian thrift store for $2. It's actually really good. A victim of record company politics, according to Tim Booth.
