Tuesday is the new Monday

Hey it’s Tuesday!

I’m off to London this evening

I’m feeling the black dog creeping up on me again of late. I always become a right mardy arse in the Autumn and it doesn’t help that I’ve no weekend away to look forward to. I went into Flying Tiger yesterday and it reminded me that this time last year I was gearing up for Copenhagen.

Tuesdays are fucking shit, and I'm not looking forward to the days getting shorter noticeably every night now. But at present I'm choosing to focus on the fact that today is pretty much perfect autumnal weather - sunny yet cool enough to wear long sleeves. Fuck it, I think i could even get away with a light cardigan. Perfect.

Winter is worrying me too. I’m normally ok up until Christmas, albeit autumn is a struggle for someone like me who loves summer so much and really notices the later sunrises. I think with me having to go back to work for the first time in a few months too, it’s going to be a major shift and with little fun stuff on the horizon, that’s going to be hard. I’m dreading the thought of a likely second lockdown- the first was only made manageable by having good weather and being able to get out and sit on the balcony lots...

Oh no, what happened?

Just a catalogue of not-that-bad things in isolation, scattered on a background of fairly major issues of financial insecurity and isolation, and garnished with my mother being a manipulative cow

Oh I LOVE the later sunrises. If only for the fact that they don't wake me up before 7.30am.

I'm very much an autumn person - with the equinox a few weeks away, I'm in a decent enough place right now. I'm off work for a fortnight from Friday so we'll see if I get all nocturnal and maudlin or if I get all inspired and productive.

I had a TERRIBLE sleep last night and feel very out of sorts today.

MEH.

It's BOTH ENDS (story of my life) for me. I love being up and about before anyone else is- the day I was the first person in the sea about 5am this year was just glorious and probably my favourite day of the year so far. Waking up and then having to wait about to do anything is just annoying.

The other thing is that I don't think I will EVER get used to the seasons. Facebook memories this week have shown me just how often I moan about the earlier nights and the end of summer and autumn coming. Maybe I should just move somewhere constantly warm...

I boshed a Night Nurse last night and slept like a LOG for 11 hours. Bit drowsy this morning but that will wear off soon enough.

I am definitely a winter person. I can't stand heat at all, anything above 20℃ makes me moody, and frosty but sunny mornings are the best.

Cities are better when it is dark as well, so less light is a bonus to me. I should just up and move to Iceland already.

I must say as much as I do enjoy Summer, with heat and the endless days I usually much prefer Halloween to New Year in that it is probably my favourite time of the year. Christmas is usually pretty special for me in the fact I get all my family staying with us here, and usually head back over to Ireland with them for New Year. A stunning snowy day is probably the most beautifully picturesque vision I could think of, BUT I can not be bothered stuck in with another IMPENDING LOCKDOWN. :zombie:

I love Winter from late November up until new year but I just find it BLEAK come January. I used to love Autumn but now I just see it as a long, miserable slog.

Christ I’m full of the joys this morning.

Yep after New Year is usually pretty terrible. All the over indulgence from the back end of the year before catching up with you and no sign of daylight until MARCH.

Although I DO love the weather conditions. Going back to 2010 when my quaint little town was on the news constantly as it was like NARNIA and the nearest town to us didn’t have a drop of snow was really quite a HEADFUCK.

I always remember one of my old Grandmothers tales was that when you have perfect growing conditions throughout the Summer it is likely to be a cold snowy winter. I honestly can’t remember my garden ever being quite so PLENTIFUL so hopefully it rings true in Winter 20/21. :disco:

January to mid March is the pits

I REALLY suffer from SAD. Having said that, this year was the best I've had it in years- I don't know if the exercise was helping or, weirdly, the world being ODD and Coronavirus and lockdown looming took my mind off it elsewhere- but I didn't feel half as bad as I normally do to be honest. Fingers crossed it was the start of a new leaf and it doesn't hit me this year either, but I am not holding out too much hope. Especially as I'll be driving to the new office and back in pitch black, which I HATE.

But no, don't be ridiculous, I'm coming down with my best friend who lives there but has been up here for lockdown. I'm beyond excited for the change of scenery.

One of my teammates died over the weekend of cancer.

I mean, if you had to pick anyone likely it was probably him, as he drank like a fish. But still, quite a shock. Knew he'd been off for a couple of months sick but had no idea how sick.

That's rubbish. I am truly sick of cancer at this point in my life.

That's rotten, Indie. Especially when you didn't know how ill he really was.

I need to get a gym membership but I CANT BE ARSED

Happy Birthday @cwej and @Pingu

I don't mind the cold as long as it's DRY
