Not only I had to be at the office at NINE (RUDE!) for a client, but the bitch was here at 8:50 and had the AUDACITY to have the reception call me. Well, the metro’s down and I won’t be here before 9:20 THEN :)

I could but they won't let me. Essentially, they only have so much kit available for homeworking and it's been allocated by department rather than on individual need.So, despite the fact that I haven't worked in "my" department for 9 months, I'm still bound to it and it hasn't been selected for homeworking.

I am sure that will make it HARDER, but many other companies have managed, so it really does boil down to the fact that the company seem to care more about business as usual rather than employees health and well being.

That’s ridiculous! So someone in your current department who has to use public transport to get in is still lower in the pecking order than someone in the other department who lives a five minute walk away?

You have the right to ask. One guy got it early on by saying how stressed out he was (he wasn't). Now we've just got people going off with stress.

Industrialised farming will be looked at as abhorrent, I mean it is pretty gross and I say that as a meat eater.
 
I only eat meat that is free range and organic now when I do eat meat. Drunk kebabs excluded.

The turning point will be when lab-grown meat is indistinguishable and affordable, because at that point there is no benefit to killing to achieve the same thing, so everyone will choose not to.

Other than the inevitable gammons who will want "an authentic experience" of murder on their plate as they shout racistly at the tv.
 
It’s such a shame when a recipe asks for 125ml wine and you’re forced to buy a full bottle.
 
My mother was born in to farming, and I always hated it. Thankfully by the time I came along we lived above a pub, and as much as I loved feeding the baby lambs and most of the farm animals I can never forget staying in the house kept awake all night with the cows screaming and crying for days after they take their calf’s away from them. :(

I'm having carbonara (using bacon) for dinner.

Which I think is vegan, because if I remember the Simpsons correctly the pig gives up bacon freely and it does them no harm.

Well, this remains the great conundrum - if an animal dies of natural causes or in an accident, is it OK to eat the meat?
