Morning.

The papers are mostly leading with new laws making a divorce easier.

The irony is surely lost on no-one that several also carry pictures of an exhausted Theresa May, looking as if he face is about to crack open, revealing a tiny distraught alien having a breakdown.

Getting my impacted wisdom tooth yanked from my face at the hospital today.

I am sure looking forward to my diet of yoghurt and ice cream for the next few days.
 
I’m off to Bordeaux with a colleague who has just been amazed I’ve managed six glasses of champagne in the airport lounge.

IT WAS AN HOUR FFS!

Thats exactly why I had mine out and I was fine a day later. I have still got a small hole where the root was in my gum, which I enjoy probing with my tongue.

I had MEGA BEANS for lunch yesterday owing to their RECENTLY HIGHLIGHTED LIFE-GIVING PROPERTIES. I used to eat them ALL THE TIME ages ago but ooh my poor tum. Obviously you need to introduce them gradually to allow your FLORA to adjust :bruised:

I've had Wisdom teeth out before and that was fine. None that have involved cutting my gum & chipping at my jaw bone though.

I think it can go either way. My wife was in pain for a number of days after something similar.
 
A friend of mine had a wisdom tooth extracted a couple of months ago. A week or so after the operation, we were in the pub and he noticed bleeding from the socket, so one of the girls gave him a tampon to soak up the blood. Shortly after we arrived at the next place, he mentioned that he had left the tampon in the ashtray. We haven't been back to that pub since. We're probably barred.
 
2 1/2 hours out of the house today. Not bad. Starting to get better, especially now I no longer feel like I'm about to puke every 10-15 minutes. That of itself lifts one's mood.
 
There's an old feller in the hospital waiting room, who appears to be there on a voluntary basis, just to fill in a blackboard saying current waiting times for each clinic.

I mean it's sort of useful but what a life.

This is my new favourite moopy story. It's possibly even better than VoR and the dildo, but the degree of removal keeps it runner up.
 
I don't know why, but whenever I get local anaesthetic, it's never enough. Had to have five injections.

In other news: everything is ouch.
 
When I had a tooth reconstructed earlier in the year, the dentist gave me two lots of anaesthetic which was mainly because he wasn't patient enough to let the first one take effect. Three hours later I still couldn't feel my damn nose.
 
I remember when I had my front two done I ended up needing six attempts, the last two into the roof of my mouth. It was grim.
 
I have a check up on Friday. You lot are giving me the fear. :zombie:

Choose Auckland. A bit more pretentious than Wellington but more opportunities, more to do and its the only city that doesn't snow.

Be prepared to be very far away from the rest of the world and to have very high living costs. I moved to the US precisely for those reasons.

Teaching is good there though. The pay is super average, especially given the cost of living, but it is well funded and there's lots of support for teachers. I miss my school lots. You'd do well. They like young male teachers.
