TUESDAY sparks a civil war

MORNING!

Two days in a row at the gym and I've just mounted a tv in the office.

Well, I say I mounted...I obviously got someone else to do it for me, but you know what I mean...

Did you at least MOUNT HIM?

It was jockstrap man. Who has already this morning made comments of "You're just asking me to do this to get me in your office, aren't you? You only have to ask" and, when seeing the size of the tv, literally LISPING, "ooh, isssn't this a big one? Bet it would be good for porn".

I mean, I'm not someone bothered by this kind of "banter", but the fucking level of professionalism is OFF THE SCALE.

We've just had to do this harassment training at work and it seems like you can't say anything to anyone anymore :argh:

Omg we got told about another shop on the mainland who sacked a member of staff for making racist and homophobic comments.

This member of staff took the management to court and won unfair dismissal because they "weren't trained in how not to be racist and homophobic" :square:

It's difficult but I'd rather we erred on that side of caution than the other way.

I've got a great relationship with my lead Project Manager but I am still super careful what I say- particularly in writing- even if he says a lot to me that tells me he wouldn't mind me reciprocating. You HAVE to be careful.

The record player, coffee machine and tv are in #priorities.

Ignore the rubbish furniture under and next to the tv, that’s all changing and need to get some arty shit for the walls and a sofa, but rather pleased all in all.

I now have workspace envy. 100% having a deck in our next office

I had a spare one in the loft as I bought a second Rega Planar 1 for the spare room when I was working in there a few years back. It was just gathering dust so thought I’d put it in here.

I do agree generally, but in this training they're telling us not to talk about what we eat for lunch incase we offend.

At my old job that was one of our rules because “some people may be on lower pay scales than you and may be offended that you can afford a nicer meal”

(I feel I told this recently somewhere, so apologies if it's a repeat)

No office food story is worse for me than when we used to have a massively obese guy in the office who would eat the most DISGUSTING things at all times of day- curry for breakfast, for example. (Then he went through a stage of eating a whole box of Weetabix, which was at least more reasonable. Anyhow, I digress.) I had so many complaints from my staff that I had to ask him to stop, and politely requested that he bring in more "usual" breakfast fare if he was going to eat at work.

And he fucking played me and started microwaving kippers.

Weetabix are horribly addictive and a bit of a minefield.

You're always either left with too much milk or too much bix and it becomes an endless cycle.

Who is it going to offend 🤔 unless you're eating live kittens.

Mandy tried banning hardboiled eggs and egg mayo sandwiches in the shop, I'm the only one that eats them as our other member of staff is vegan, and Mandy doesn't like eggs.

But she told me it made the shop smell too much so I wasn't allowed them. :bad:

Obviously I still have eggs at work. Screw you.

Mandy is right.

I also agree with Mandy. I love eggs, but Mr Sheena has about TEN hardboiled (his current of MANY fads is snacking on them) in the fridge at the moment and they fucking REEK.

I also don't understand why you just wouldn't want to BE NICE.

LULU UPDATE:

Apparently she was "very good", also quite nice to the backstage people, had lots of "lovely banter", had them all up and dancing and the place was packed.

This was from him in the jock strap, though, so hardly the BAROMETER of GOOD TASTE.
