Yeah if you have AC or a fan then that's a good idea.

But I discovered the wet towel on the body after staying in hotels with no AC. It makes you feel a bit gross cos you're wet, and you cant tell if it's from the fan or sweat, but it definitely helps.
 
I hugged a hot water bottle filled with icy water to sleep. That seemed to do the trick (until 5am)
 
Good morning. I’m up at 5 to drive 2 hours, give 50 kids Covid tests, and then drive 2 hours back. But at least it’s not that hot?
 
I took a frozen wet towel to bed and it stayed wet most of the night but was dry when my alarm went off. Must have been bastard hot already around 8am.
 
Some of you have never spent a summer sleeping on a lilo in a room with 6 people in Ibiza and it really shows.
 
I slept in the lounge because of the athletics and we've taken the balcony doors off to maximise breeze. Had a Dyson fan on lightly and it was quite pleasant actually. Was vaguely surprised!
 
Ugh I’m spending the week training this customer en tête à tête. It’s proving to be quite a challenge to get anything out of him. I’m quickly going to run of stuff to say and I still have two days and a half to go :zombie:
 
The sea breeze here is definitely helping in Ryde. It's 27 degrees but it feels fine. Although the pets are struggling.
 
I can’t believe we broke it at 11AM. I hate to think what 3PM will feel.

(I’ve abandoned the flat and am shivering the in the office air con).
 
I am hiding INDOORS all day. I do have a short trip to the supermarket planned when the temperature peaks here, just to see what it feels like.
 
I'm going to my brother's later to swim in his pool. Until then, I'm not leaving my flat.

I have had to give up my lovely tower fan and give it to the rabbit tho :(

It does make me laugh that people down here are treating this as if they are having record temperatures. A local shop closed cause of “dangerous conditions” yesterday. It was 27 degrees!

I know some of the island inland towns are currently at 32 degrees including Cowes, which actually is coastal 🤷🏻‍♀️

27 degrees seems very manageable.
 
On a train back to Manchester from London. It’s fine. Though there was just an announcement to say we were “arriving into Milton Keynes, it’s very hot and you should consider if you need to travel. You can depart here and make your way back to London if you wish, it’s not going to get cooler”

Well, quite :D

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fucking scorcher and no mistake, and much of the UK isn’t used to it/built for it. But it’s regularly these temperatures in summer in other parts of the world and they don’t just CARK it as nation.
 
God I’ve missed these temperatures outside. It’s been so long since I’ve been to a hot country.
 
Just come outside for the first time since about 12 o'clock. Definitely feels like it's starting to cool down here.
