Yes, I've not watched it yet, but I'm pleased to see it's doing well with Ashley Jensen, as I like her a lot. I just hope the audience sticks around.

She is really good in it. I’m not sure I have watched anything with Ashley Jenson starring other than Ugly Betty EONS ago.

I've liked her in Agatha Raisin on Sky, although I can only take that show in small amounts as a little goes a long way.
 
Big Brother had a high of 1.729m and a low of 1.555m for the ITV2 shows. The Friday eviction which was simulcast on ITV1 and ITV2 had a total of 2.063m - 1.157m on ITV2 and 0.906m on ITV1.

Considering how hyped that show was, and that it was almost certain to be the highest show of the week anyway, I maintain that it was a lousy idea to put it on ITV1 as well as the vast majority of those ITV1 viewers would have watched on ITV2 otherwise.
 
Married At First Sight UK had a high of 2.316m and a low of 2.051m.

I don’t understand how the eviction was on ITV1 on 3rd of November but not last week. 🤷‍♀️
 
I thought they announced that all evictions were going to be simulcast on both?

Just checked itv.com and it says it was on both - did they change it last minute?

Survivor seems to have picked up a little. Both shows are back in the top 50, average 2.865m, the Saturday narrowly ahead of the Sunday.

Mamma Mia I Have A Dream down to 1.728m.
 
A high of 1.647m to a low of 1.503m for the ITV2 only Big Brother shows. The Friday simulcast got 1.189m on ITV2. It didn't make the ITV1 top 50 (the #50 had 0.814m, so less than that), so I don't know the total.

MAFS UK had a high of 2.151m and a low of 2.016m on E4.
 
Barb have posted the number of homes with access to streaming services in the third quarter of 2023. The change is since the second quarter.

Netflix 16.7m homes (up 0.2m)
Amazon Prime 13.0m (up 0.4m)
Disney+ 7.6m (up 0.4m)
AppleTV+ 2.2m (up 0.3m)
Paramount+ 1.9m (up 0.2m)

That's interesting, Apple and Paramount are quite distant. I assumed Paramount would be ahead of Apple since it is bundled with Sky Cinema but then Apple seem to be the ones offering most trials.

Apple likely has more prestige original programming. Honestly I only really considered Paramount at some point for their catalogue titles.

We have Sky Cinema through NowTV. Is Paramount included as part of that? I haven’t looked.
 
I think a lot of people still think you need to have an Apple TV to watch Apple TV+.

I find there is more on Apple that appeals to me than Disney (but I get that free). My trial ran out recently but I'll keep it for the new Slow Horses then cancel it for a while.

It looks like Paramount is only included with Now if you sign up for certain fixed period bundles.
 
@lolly do you know when the last tv pick up occurred? I remember they used to be quite regular back in the day, and would occur throughout the break of coronation street and the likes.

It just popped in to my head earlier. It was when everyone used electrical appliances throughout an ad break causing massive surges in electricity usage.
 
Oh I don't know. I guess it's far less likely to happen now when audiences are much smaller.

I expect now the biggest surge would come after Strictly finishes on a Saturday.

I’m a celeb picked up around 3 million after the live launch show which is decent. It will drop like a stone now though I would have thought.
 
Big Brother had a high of 1.688m and a low of 0.866m over its final week. That low of 0.866m was the finale on ITV2. The broadcast on ITV1 didn't make the top 50 shows, so it must had had fewer viewers than the #50 show, which was Wednesday's episode of This Morning with 0.876m.

Wikipedia is quoting a viewing figure for the final of 1.6m total, combining ITV1 and ITV2, so I assume someone has access to more detailed info.

And that figure of 1.6m puts it below the series average of 1.71m, and the last week was the poorest performing week of the series, with an average of 1.56m.

The return of BB launch show this year had a fantastic figure but it all went downhill pretty quickly. I loved the series, and no doubt will continue to love any future seasons but I can’t see it lasting all that long in the UK, although I think the celebrity version will perform better.
 
That series average audience of 1.71m would put it above the average audience of every C5 series of the show, except for series 14 (the third on C5, won by Sam Evans).

The C5 years had a low of 1.02m and a high of 1.9m.

I didn't watch any of it other than the delightful double eviction, so can't comment on how good it was, but I would maintain that it performed well for ITV2. It gave them an audience share of between 10 - 15% pretty much every night, which is good for them.

Looking at the audience figures over the series, it's clear that loads of people tuned in for the opening night and then fairly quickly lost interest. It started with 3.39m on opening night, then fell to 2.25m on the second night, and was then down to below 2m every night, bar the simulcast double eviction in week 4 when it got 2.06m.

If they persevere with it (and I suspect they will for one more series at least), they clearly have things to learn. They won't get the hype for opening night that they did with the comeback, and the dropping of viewers over the series week by week wasn't a good look.

The lowest episode was the finale!?!? :o I must admit, even though I watched almost every episode, I didn't watch the finale :D I was out that night and once I knew who won I wasn't that bothered to watch on catch up.

I think they did the right thing making it only 6 weeks long. Could have been really bad if it had been on a few more weeks.

Yes, but only on ITV2 - with the ITV1 simulcast it went up to 1.6m, according to Wikipedia, which put the finale as the third highest of the week.

The two episodes immediately before the finale were the lowest of the week, and the whole series.

And the finale had the lowest viewing figure of all 4 shows which were on both ITV1 and ITV2.
