TV Ratings 2025

All episodes of Celebrity Big Brother made the top 50, with an average of 2.470m. That's down almost exactly 600k (20%) on the average for the opening week last year.
 
So Gladiators did increase a fair bit over last week, but it's still the fourth lowest audience of this series.

The average for series one was 6.02m, and for series two 4.15m. I think it's going to have to at least open as well as this year and stabilise quickly next year to have reasonable hope of a fourth series.
 
Serious question - does Barney Walsh work on TV outside of shows with his dad?
 
Oh he's in Casualty?! Arguably the biggest thing on TV at the moment then.
 
Glad Gladz creeping back up to the 4m mark, the BBC have done this reboot so proud so long may it continue

Hearing that The Genius Game is getting terrible viewing figures? Is that the case?
 
Is it a quiz show? Probably not for me if so. I have so much to catch up on, and the more overwhelming it seems I just can’t be bothered.
 
Still stand by This City Is Ours has been so cruelly overlooked. It is probably one of the best written and acted dramas I have watched in quite a while and I was hoping for a second season. I think the dance even had quite a TikTok effect. Are those figures too unimpressive for a second season would you think @lolly ?

The figures aren't massive, but considering how drama always does better on catch up, and the fact that it seems to have picked up viewers during its run, I think the 7 day totals here are only the beginning of the story and it will find a considerably larger audience.

I do miss the days of BARB releasing the full 28 day charts.

It’s more of a reality tv show than a quiz show but it’s intentionally designed to be convoluted and difficult - was a big hit in Korea where people actually seem to value that but every comment on Twitter was ‘this is too difficult for me’… 😂 it’s really not THAT hard to understand though.

Ha well it seems you’re in the majority. But it’s a shame because we end up dumbing down tv - particularly game shows and reality shows, far more than even Americans do, let alone our friends in South East Asia.

The BBC article confirming renewal states that the first episode has been watched by 6.6m so far. That's up from 1.9m in the overnights, and 3.639m after one week.

It also says almost 3m people have already watched the finale.

It feels like a good investment for the future, I think it could really grow its figures for future series if it keeps the quality up. Parts of s1 felt up there with Line of Duty, in terms of big OMG moments.
 
I wonder if it got a little lost in the hype around Adolescence when it launched.

And with an average of less than 4m, which I don't think I've seen before - and all episodes were primetime.

So the weekly live semi final shows have not worked in BGT’s favour at all.
