Not sure how much interest there will be in this, but since I found a website which publishes a full chart weekly (thinkbox.tv), I've been checking it weekly. Unfortunately they only carry the last week - there is no archive, so I thought I'd record it here. I imagine @Rita at least will have some interest.

For the soaps or any programme with multiple shows, I'm going to average them, rather than include all individual episodes.

The chart seems quite late now, because it includes time shifted figures for 7 days after broadcast. So the current chart (published on Monday Feb 4) covers the week Jan 21 - 27.

What happened to Eastenders?

Dancing On Ice is holding up well, it does seem to the be their most talked about series (mainly thanks to the GC)
 
Oh YES PLEASE. I am always asking about ratings and don’t have the first clue where to find them. Good job @lolly.
 
Why is every new drama on TV about POLICE DETECTIVES? Cleaning Up isn’t, but it’s also a bit of a non starter although I am baring with it until the final episode next week.
 
It's an astonishingly BANAL list. I guess most the GOOD STUFF is on streaming these days.

The only ones I really watch from that list are the NEWS and occasionally watch The Chase if there's fuck all else on.
 
Seeing that, I'm reassessing my thoughts about the Xmas Day ratings; they seem OK now...
 
I guess some of the shows will pick up greater audiences down the line on iPlayer etc, but I imagine that will be mostly the dramas. These figures cover until 7 days after broadcast, but obviously there has to be a cut off somewhere.

I doubt that the soaps or shows like DOI and The Voice pick up many at all after a week.

I'm sure it was always the case though - the more interesting shows were always on the minority channels. And arguably still is.

A difference I remember from growing up is that shows like Dallas and Dynasty were always at the top of the list as well. All the big US shows are on Netflix or Sky Atlantic etc now.

I endured two episodes of that. What a load of tripe - I'm assuming that it is Sheridan that is keeping that many people watching.

I watched Call The Midwife (PERFECT Sunday night fare), DOI, Les Miserables and Cold Feet from that list.

ITV have just ditched their two comedy series’ as well.

Granted, Birds Of A Feather wasn’t exactly a behemoth of quality, but the worst thing was the director of ITV essentially saying “if you want comedy, watch Coronation Street and enjoy the one-liners and quips”

Les Miserables was FANTASTIC.
 
I really only ever watch TV online now. The last programme I sat down to watch was the Would I Lie To You Xmas special because it had James Acaster on it and I had nowt else to do. I had to sign up to that UKPLAY thing to watch Hypothetical...

Mr L is watching, so I've seen a lot of it. I quite like it, but can't think of many shows where you have to suspend your disbelief to the same extent. The biggest problem with it I think though was making it into a six part series - it could have been a two parter quite happily.

I would love to see her food van come in to fruition. I agree that Sam is not that likeable but I would still like to see her rule supreme, simply for her to keep her house, daughters, and family together.

Interesting that the dominating dramas seem to be either female led or joint female/male.
 
I have never watched Vera. Am I missing much? Is it the 2019 version of Marple?

I dip in and out of it. I think I only caught two this series.

It's nowhere near as fluffy as Marple. It's fairly straightforward as a detective drama I'd say, just with an acerbic pensioner as the lead.

I think I will stick to Luther for my detective drama for now. I have binge watched series 1-4 over the past few weeks.
 
Both Call The Midwife and Vera run after each other on a Sunday evening don’t they? Does being shown on a Sunday night during winter contribute to such high ratings?

I think I have enjoyed the first 15 minutes of this episode more than I have the whole series up to now.

It’s probably one of the best slots - people are winding down ready to go back to work on Monday, so more likely to be near a television.

I think that’s why Dancing On Ice was moved there.

I take it that was down to Sam? I found she was so lucky to have so many understanding people around her, and that they were so willing to help bail her out. It looked like it was gearing up for a possible series 2?
 
Well the ending was certainly open. And the ratings were food enough. But I hope not.
 
I’m not too sure. I can’t remember any more of Sheridan’s recent work having a sequel, so I would say if it was down to her it would certainly be a no.

It's doing better than X Factor did last year, isn't it? And it certainly hasn't fallen ao hard, if only because it was never so successful in the first place.
 
What is seen as good ratings now? Would the whole Top 20 be seen as a success? I understand that things very rarely hit the dizzy heights of 20 million viewers now, but I also remember not all that long ago TV shows getting axed as they were “only” hitting 7-8 million.
 
Actually, if you include multiple episodes of shows that have them, The Voice is the #25 of the week, which is broadly similar to where X Factor was last year. If anything a little better I believe.
