@lolly I can’t seem to find any overnights for BGT: The Champions? Have you came across any?
 
I am thinking they must be pretty unremarkable as if they were anything else some rag would have revelled in reporting otherwise.
 
Regarding 'series stacking', which is what the industry calls making all episodes available at once, there's a BARB report from earlier this year which gives interesting stats about the first series of Killing Eve.

The series as a whole was released to iPlayer on Sept 15th, but the last episode only actually broadcast on TV 20th October.

The last episode had a total audience of 9.86m. But 5.14m of those watched the last episode before it was broadcast. The 'live' viewing from the tv broadcast of the last episode was only 1.88m. The balance of 2.84m came from viewing of up to 28 days after broadcast.

Nice to see some big figures at the top of the chart. If GBBO holds at that level, it's going to be close with SCD, isn't it?
 
I think the SCD launch show typically has a lower audience than the show proper, so I expect GBBO to beat that, unless it has a significant second week drop.

No, apparently it was down on last year's opening episode in terms of audience, although very similar in terms of percentage share.

Apparently it was the lowest launch show for six years. I assume that was the last year on BBC2 before it moved to BBC1, perhaps.
 
Digital spy has this from the overnights

The third series of The Great British Bake Off that Channel 4 purchased as part of that shocking deal in 2016 began last night (August 27), and while it's still doing really well for the broadcaster — and as full of innuendo as ever — viewing figures have dipped.

Overnight figures suggest that the premiere had an average of 5.7 million viewers, with a peak of 6.6 million. That's down from last year's 6.1 average and the lowest since 2013, when the premiere pulled in a 5.6 million average on BBC Two.

But I've also just read an article on Metro stating at 9.4m it was up on last year's 9.2m, which must be comparing consolidated figures, so I think when the dust has settled it has seen a slight increase.
 
The GBBO breakdown is interesting. The live audience of 4.185m is below a few other shows, but it also had 1.807m VOSDAL (viewing on same day as live) and 3.392m on time shift. That's way more than any other show - the next is Peaky Blinders with just under 2m.

The most watched live broadcast was Antiques Roadshow with 4.999m
 
That’s a CRAZY amount for GBBO to gain on demand.

I’m hopeful that The Apprentice will be able to do even half as well.

Have you heard anything about it yet? I was thinking just the other day it must be fairly soon, as I think the last few years it has ended a week or two before Christmas, hasn't it? I'm guessing we're looking at an early October start.

No, I'm not aware that there's been any confirmation of a new series other than Tom Allen presenting You're Fired.

Next month would be a good bet.

Not least that they managed to misplace a million viewers in a week.

I give the average figures for any show with more than one episode. I'll check the individual highest Six or Ten O'clock New show, though...
 
The highest Six O'clock News was on Monday 2 Sept with 4.628m.
The highest Ten O'clock News was on Tuesday 3 Sept with 4.404m

Do you mean BBC News? It's BBC1, but I think that's what they call the weekend evening news, when it isn't on at Six O'clock like it is Monday to Friday.
 
I have a shedload of recorded tv programmes to get through and all I seem to have caught up on since I came home is Celebrity Masterchef and Gemma Collins: Diva Forever.
 
Just started watching The Capture this evening. Totally gripped by the first couple of episodes.

I love it, and just don’t know how it’s going to go. I have thoroughly enjoyed A Confession too.
 
The Capture has been excellent so far, definitely one of the more interesting dramas on the main channels this year. Holliday Grainger's been great and I very much appreciate Callum Turner.
