The MP for Mansfield has been getting irate that Marcus Rashford isn't responding to his tweets inviting him to his constituency, and has claimed that free school meals vouchers were bad because at one school in his constituency there's kids living in crack dens and brothels and a quarter of the parents can't read. I'm not entirely sure how that's related but ANYWAY...

This has not gone down brilliantly with the people of Mansfield (the ones he hasn't claimed can't read anyway).

Ben Bradley and his BIG GOB. He even had to apologise to Corbyn. Here’s hoping for another SIMILAR EMBARRASSMENT.

Although my cousins lived in a posh bit of Mansfield when I was a kid and it was quite nice.

"It's not easy voting to starve a million kids but I've been for a run and now I feel okay".

What an absolute cunt.

Some of the replies are honestly just baffling. It makes me so sad.

Add Selaine Saxby, MP for North Devon to the tone deaf club. Comments taken OUT OF CONTEXT apparently.

My LOCAL MP said that we should only provide free meals for children during term time

OH FUCK OFF YOU CUNT

The way they are all screaming “out of context”. Obviously taught that in some shitty PR crash course (the same one where they were taught to stand with their legs a mile apart like they’re having a niagra slash).

Apparently LEE ROWLEY is “listening to his constituents”

YOU HAVENT AND YOU NEVER HAVE YOU EVIL CUNT

I'm in a couple of local community Facebook groups which are full of people offering to make packed lunches, donate food etc. And lots of local cafes and restaurants offering to help out as well. And I'm sure that's the case all over the country.

The less poor will look after the most poor while those with most do fuck all.

It sounds terrible but people should refuse to step up. As long as the Tories know we'll pick up their slack and not cause a fuss, we're letting them get away with fucking anything.

To say my constituency has voted Conservative since 2017 they haven’t half kicked up a fuss

GO NORTH EAST DERBYSHIRE :disco:

This whole thing is whipping up a nice storm.

I mean, i'm pretty skeptical of the level of hyperbole being shared on facebook (one post i saw claimed that every MP gets £500k in free meals every year based on nothing other than some pretty dodgy maths) but anything which kicks the bastards have my support.

I’m seeing people from both ends of the political spectrum sharing the petition to stop MP’s free meals :disco:

I can't believe Ben Bradley is 30 years old.

It always amazes me when young people are conservative. I mean sort of get why some people drift that way as they get older, but a young northern(ish) man? fuck off.
I have this, and also have the same feeling towards Gay Tories as well. Like, it was only a few years ago most of them voted against you having the same rights as everyone else?

Most of the young northern Tories would have been in the BNP a couple of decades ago, let's be honest.

Most of the young gay Tories would have been married (while noshing off a guy they went to Eton with in private) a couple of decades ago.

I've moved on to actually just hating any working class person who supports the Tories at this point. They're not being misled, they're wilfully endorsing evil cunts who are fighting to make the lives of poor people even harder which, in turn, makes them every bit as evil and cunty.
Brexit says hi.

Working class people in 2010: Boris Johnson is an elitist prick who should never be London Mayor

Working class people in 2020: that Boris is great. He’s going to make sure there are no Bulgarians taking up my space at the clinic or Polish people taking that builders job I didn’t even want. He might starve me to death but at least I don’t have to have a hard working European living next door!

I half agree with that, but you're missing a good "LOL look at Boris on HIGNFY! LOL look at him rugby tackling in a charity football game!" He was plenty liked for no great reason before Brexit became a thing.

he was but only in a Brand Boris kinda way, I don’t think that was enough to win him an election, though it certainly would have helped.

It’s such a shame that so many people are so fickle, so hypocritical, and so incapable of seeing the bigger picture

Book of STATS alert but I know of two people with higher education who voted for Boris as Mayor of London because he was "funny".

My theory with gay Tories, having known a few, is that they care more about money than anything else. If you have money, people will leave you alone and you can do whatever you want behind closed doors, ergo they will routinely vote for the party that helps the rich regardless of what their social policies are.

I despise him with every fibre of my being, but Boris has charisma. In a weird way, Trump does too.

It’s much harder for liberals to appear likable these days. If the Tories are the nasty party, to many, Labour are the Judgey party, or worse, the unpatriotic party.

This is very true. I have even met Russian gays through my bf who support the Putin regime on the condition that they remain financially secure and can jet off to Europe for mini-gay breaks. Obviously COVID has been quite the bolt from the blue on that front :)
