You know what, as much as I don't hope for miracles, I would also say that we should expect the unexpected. The damage of Brexit is emerging thick and fast, and as much as this government tries to sell us the idea of trade deals with India and Australia, geography is destiny. The day will come that the economic arguments in favour of trading in a single market with the UK's closest neighbours will have their Emancipation of Mimi era.

@RaspberrySwirl and I will be shaking and crying over the idea of the UK being admitted only into the Single Market & Customs Union as an associate member and rule-taker (France will never the UK back in, save a massive crisis). It will be poetic justice to
actually become an EU vassal state like Montenegro or Kosovo.
