Curiously the second of three (3) British indie films in the space of a year about a masc/'straight' man falling in love with (or at least bumming) a drag queen, after Femme and ahead of Layla.

Very good though, and more than different enough to Femme to justify itself. I thought Femme was a tighter film with a neater plot, but I thought this worked better as a character piece, with really strong performances and far more to show of the two worlds both the leads came from.

And it's got one of the Peter Beales in! The fittest one (he gets his arse out briefly)

Can't believe I've now seen Maddy from The Traitors in an acting role! Also I thought the mother looked familiar and turns out she was Elaine the Pain :o

(b) not realise that's who the mum was? Every time she spoke I knew I'd seen her somewhere before
