Even when I really like both of them, WW was so overplayed I don't think I can listen to it regularly anymore, when WFT is still giving me everything.
 
i find shakira's gox (goat vox) really hard to swallow these days. that's my main issue with ww. wtf was perfect when it came out and it is still perfect to this day - from the enthusiasm, to the video, to the hex hector remix, to the promise of jlo and the new decade, it all just came together and it's aged wonderfully since.
 
No contest for me either, WFT is such a classic. Whenever Wherever is annoying.
 
I like both within context. However I like Waiting For Tonight out of context as well.

THIS. I absolutely love Waiting For Tonight but it could have been sung by anyone, as for WW I've always preferred Shaki and like her a lot more as a whole package but I don't think this poll is fair cause WW, like someone posted already, suffered from overplay and even though it was THE song to help her crossover to US and Europe she has much better stuff in her bag.

If it would have been Eyes Like Yours vs Waitin For Tonight then OH WELL...

It could be interesting to have a poll to decide which of these two has released the most DRECK Though.
 
Oh I LOVE a bit of OLD SHAKY, but Waiting For Tonight is FOR THE FUCKING AGES.
 
And I’m no J-Lo fan, but she sells the shit out of it- that identikit version is so LACKING in comparison.
 
I think Whenever Wherever is the better overall song. Waiting for Tonight is special but not on the same level which could be said for J. Lo in general.
 
I'm astonished Waiting for Tonight isn't walking this, Moopy never ceases to amaze me.
 
I have a lot of love for Whenever Wherever but WFT is a tits out, dripping in cum, smelling of poppers, disco soaked BANGER. And those always tip the balance for me.

WFT needs a balls out gay remix that isn’t the Hex Hector one, which is good but takes too much of the TUNE away for me. A 7th Heaven style, poppers aloft STONKER would do the trick.
 
WW sounds flat as fuck next to WFT.

WFT is a stellar slice of latin dance pop from that late 90s/early 00s era when every major female diva was releasing HANDS ALOFT POPPER ANTHEMS and REMIXES for the gays. Round about the same time a young WTG realised he was a gayer and for that I'll always love it. :disco:

Oh I've been spazing out on the Miami Mix for 20 years now. Sadly the Spanglish version is the only one on Spotify.
 
I know how bad this might sound to musical snobs but JLo’s On the 6 is one of the greatest latinpop-rnb-ish albums of all time. Almost every song is a masterpiece and a reminder of that hot steamy gay summer of 1999.

Bring back that Darkchild 99 sound :(

On the 6 is watery dirge by and large. Waiting For Tonight was a total anomaly. The follow-up, J-Lo, is her best album by a mile - the Latin sound suited her to a tee and her vocals were much fuller on that record (the bits she actually sang).
 
Whenever Wherever has the lovely flute but that chorus in Waiting for Tonight is undeniable.
 
Whilst I'm still here for Shakira's unabashed brass, Waiting For Tonight is just so pure and precise. In fact it's so untouchable she can barely bring herself to sing on it
