Was 1996-1998 the best run of UK entries ever?

I think this could be the best run we've ever had, in terms of quality.

You could argue 1992 to 1999. Maybe some weren't quite at the giddy heights of those 3, but there was a consistent quality, a few decent attempts at trying something new, & none of the entries felt like the no hopers the UK puts forward year in year out now.

The best run of UK entries was 81-83 - truly just entering the same song each time and managing to elevate it even more with each successive year
