Great, even though I’ve done another test and I’m negative I now FEEL like I’ve got COVID. I’ve been so exhausted this past week, maybe it’s my vaccines doing their job and fighting it? I’ve also walked nearly 50,000 steps in 3 days which might be why im sitting on a chair unable to move.

It might just be end of term sickness Suomi. I get it every year when my momentum just crashes in June, and it's been a crazy term for you.

It is still GLORIOUS here. I don’t think I ever remember having such a long hot spell when living in Scotland.

It's awful, isn't it!

Yes! I am not build for this.

I did just enjoy a wee stroll (went to buy some guitar leads) but it was getting a bit too burny out there and the scum were out, half-cut, taps aff, shouting at everyone and no-one.

People who have met us both - is funky more Scouse than I am Bristolian?

How do scousers pronounce hayfever?

I think the problem was more that I didn’t say it in scouse. I think he learnt English in Liverpool (poor bastard) so has tuned into the accent, so he kept asking me to repeat things and even said “you don’t sound scouse”

maybe that’s why I have a crush on him...

oh yeah you’re not that Bristolian. I mean I’d say generic West Country but some people would find that QUITE OFFENSIVE :D you’re not even strong West Country.
If I remember you sound like my Uni best friend who is from Forest of Dean but quite posh

Loving this hot accent chat on a Wednesday afternoon

Scottish and South African people in me now

GENERIC WEST COUNTRY?! :o

FOREST OF DEAN?! :o

Possibly only @Alex will appreciate the HORROR

I do flip between liking having no/not much of an accent sometimes, and then wishing I had more of one at others.

I said she was POSH

there was just a HINT of something in there but she didn’t sound like she was from CORNWALL or anything

If I'm comparing it to my family, I have hardly any accent. But then they are all pretty rough.

If I compare it to friends then it's more noticeable, particularly friends from outside the West Country. I very much reject there is a generic West Country accent, but accept they are pretty similar to the untrained ear.

But whenever I've been in North America, I'm fully convinced I sound like Hugh Grant.

Oh my dads family are PROPER SCOUSE. None of you would understand my Nan.

mums family as well but they’ve mostly got money now and all moved out to the “posh bit” and so are technically plastic scousers. Still sound scouse though.

Who on moopy has the strongest regional accent?

I'll start with @Star. Apparently she used to voice Pauline Fowler on Dead Ringers.

I wouldn’t know that! Well I know she grew up in Swindon but I don’t think that’s posh either ?

I’ll shut up now before I offend everyone west of Reading

I don’t know if this helps, but I understood all of the English accents on the zoom but found the Scottish accents a lot stronger/a bit harder to understand
