I've used alcohol successfully on ink on vinyl flooring
 
OT: I'm playing through some techno 12"s I've inherited somewhere to list on Discogs to check nothing is scratched and it's all quite RAVEY and TECHNOEY and BLEEPY and almost at the same time, Royal Mail has just delivered a dodgy selection of FESTIVE TREATS ordered off the dark web by a CLOSE ACQUAINTAINCE at the weekend which I'd entirely forgotten about.

Maybe I should just FUCK THIS COVID OFF with half an E!? :disco:
 
Ok I'll try using some Aldi gin, I'll save my mermaid gin tho.

I was going to say nail polish remover but one with acetone. Most of them don't have any acetone in them now.
 
Thanks guys, I think it's mostly out. Just looks a bit dirty now, Mandy's not very observant so I should get away with it!
 
I've been playing this hardcore techno 12" and wondering how the hell people danced to it as it was fucking crazy, to the point I was feeling a bit SICK and ANXIOUS and then I realised it was a 33 and not 45 rpm 12". I've felt like I'm having a bad trip for the last 20 minutes :D

Now we're talking - slowing down and speeding up records really can give you a totally different vibe. There are YouTube channels dedicated to playing Aphex Twin, Autechre etc at the 'wrong' speed and some of the results are genuinely amazing. I wouldn't be without a varispeed control on my turntable.

Yes I love it as I am close to my mum and all my siblings, plus a lot of my old friends are still based there. Where I am based it is a very slow pace of life. I am around 2km from Glenties which is a quaint town in Donegal with a population of around 1000. I am totally past living in big cities although I loved that when I was younger. I still love visiting big cities for the shops mainly, but I love the quiet life these days.

I’m with you 100%.

My life is suburban so I wouldn’t say it’s completely quiet but compared to city living (which I’ve done in the past) it certainly is. I like everything to be slooooow :D
 
The best thing about the Isle of Wight is looking at it from a distance :)

I like certain things about the Isle of Wight, absolutely. And I do visit, though I can't remember the last time to be honest. Maybe 5 years or so ago?
 
Oh I tell a lie, we were on a boat that docked in Cowes for the night last year.

It is nice for a trip but I couldn't live there. It really does feel like stepping back in time. When we last properly went for the day, we got to the other side and stood at a taxi rank for 45 minutes before someone came over and laughed at us saying there was "no chance you'd get a taxi on a Sunday morning". We then rang taxi firms who told us the same and ended up having to get (I think) 3 buses just to get to lunch and had to completely jettison our morning plans. After lunch, we just decided to not bother anymore and walk back along the coast to the ferry instead of organising anything.

It probably hasn't changed much :D although I hear there's a lovely, lesbian run fudge shop over here now.

I think some people who live here hate it and feel isolated. But that's what I love about it. I'm very defensive of it. It's beautiful, peaceful, friendly and safe.
 
Taxis are shit on the island and we don't have Uber. But generally the buses are really good.

I don't know anything yet! I was only thinking of it earlier this week, I had thought Bournemouth but then I know IoW has some nice sandy beaches too? So somewhere near a nice beach, don't even mind a holiday park or such that might have swimming/ other activities for the kids.

We have lovely beaches. Have a look at Nodes Point Holiday park, part of Park Dean resorts. It's right on the beach, but also has a pool and kids clubs and evening entertainment and they can do cheaper ferries.

Appley and Ryde are my local beaches, about a 10 minute drive from Nodes Point, and all sandy as you can see.

But there's loads of places you can stay if a park isn't for you. You'll also find out beaches much quieter than Bournemouth even in the summer.

If you are that way also consider Swanage ! You have Studland bay with wonderful beach, Brownsea Island (you should know about that! Is easily accessible) Get the steam train to Corfe Castle which is very pretty. Durdle door as well !
We stayed that way a few times as children and loved it
