Wednesday is VERY ANGRY 😔

I’m on the bus heading into the office, I don’t know why I’ve bothered. I WFH 100% of the time but can go in if I choose and decided to do it today because ā€œwell I need to be in town anyway to do Christmas shoppingā€ :D

I’m wearing an expensive fragrance though which makes me feel a bit cunty so there’s that.

Ugh, just remembered someone in my office space has a severe nut allergy.

Guess that means NO ALMONDS FOR ME TODAY THEN.

Can't believe I'm the first person to think of this guy...

Suddenly today (which prior to posting that was feeling borderline hellish) doesn't feel so bad at all.

I've just spoken to my agent and we strongly suspect I'm not doing the job as advertised OR someone else is doing it. I like the school, but honestly I'd rather this exhausting and confusing experience comes to an end and I can get back to my normal routine. Bad communication is such a pet hate.

I mean I was teaching single gender P.E. theory all day yesterday. Hell!

I mean what even is PE theory??
Hot fucking garbage. I had the same worksheet all day yesterday for every class. No teaching involved. With no opportunity to take command of the room you lose control.

Whole building fire alarm went off for 38 minutes at 1am. FUMMIN
Ours does that sometimes, usually when some moron has fallen asleep with a pizza in the oven. It's one of the downsides of living in a block.

Oh that's a good way of looking at it

2 days left at work this month
12 days left this year

:disco: :santa:
How do I have 16 days of work left this year when I only work 3 days a week

But then Im off until February.

After my long STINT at work over the last couple of weeks I’ve currently got 13 days left before Christmas, but for someone trying to save it’s not quite enough so I’ll probably have to pick up hours between Christmas and New Year :(

I really need to improve my office stamina. Had to go outside for a vape break after a 15 minute meeting.

We're having shop issues again. Just seen that minimum wage is increasing again next year and it's such a huge impact on our expenses. Along with our electricity that's doubled since we opened, ingredients have doubled. I can't see how we will be able to continue for much longer :(

Sent a very sarcastic email to my building manager and now I feel better.

Are you able to set your own prices? Surely you just have to push them up if you can't squeeze your margins?

Yep we can set our own prices but really there's only so much people will pay for fudge and I feel like we're almost at the top.

4th hour in the office. 3rd vape break and a 30 minute ā€œwell-being walkā€

Inflation is wild atm and to be fair is behind a lot of key costs like ingredients and power, but you'd probably be surprised, small incremental increases until you find the limit could work.

Yeah you're probably right. It's just so disheartening when we get comments about how expensive it is, how cheap fudge is to make etc. I just wish people stopped and thought before they passed comments. And I wish the government did something to help small businesses. A cap on small businesses electricity costs would help!

I guess the reality is that it IS a treat, but as Ron and you both say, EVERYTHING is increasing in price, and it's the reality for everyone.

I get why people moan about prices - don't we all about everything? But you really have no option if you can't afford to absorb those costs yourself - and I'm certainly not saying you should.

You had a great summer at your current prices, didn't you? So people are happy to pay those, or at least think it's worth it. So I think there probably is room for incremental increases, as Ron says.

Yeah the summer was really good. The year has been good to be fair, but obviously we still have the winter to get through.

I get that people moan about costs but what pisses me off is they moan about it while holding their £5 Costa coffee!

Worth remembering that a) people will moan even if you give things away (and in my experience the cheaper a price point the MORE people moan) and b) tourists for the most part arent actually THAT price conscious. They're on holiday and spending money differently to how they would in Asdas.

To be fair the summer tourists and the sailors are amazing. It's the winter coach party customers that moan. But some good points, thank you.

I’m off to London on Friday and my travel anxiety has started right on time. I leave all my laundry to the last minute and to add an extra layer this trip I haven’t yet sorted out my winter storage clothes and what I might want to take from there. I’m starting to realise my anxiety is entirely caused by my own procrastination.

Mostly it’s because I’m terrified of getting ILL before I get there. Everyone is dropping like flies with something and I’m avoiding all human contact until I leave :)
