Morning.

Am I too old to go and see Hayley Williams? I feel like I am but I also feel like she'll be great cos that album of hers is the cat's pyjamas.

I'm acting like I'm going on holiday by doing fuck all at work, going out for lunch, blah blah blah.

I'm actually getting my appendix removed tomorrow. I'm convinced I'll be fine within a couple of days. Someone in my office just told me "absolutely not, took me a week before I could even bend over", so that's nice.

I'm having a lovely day just mooching about London. I've got a few things I want to see, but spend the rest of the day just wandering and hopefully stumbling across things I've never seen before.

Don't all the budget airlines (at least) charge for hold bags? And usually a lot more if you don't pay when booking originally.

WHY HAVE I GOT TRAVEL ANXIETY?

I used to love travelling. There's remarkably little that can go wrong, everything is set up, yet my body is telling me I should be concerned.

Developing internal conflict in middle age, I swear it's my body's revenge for being cocky and careless throughout my youth.

Every European airline I've ever used (not just budget ones) charges for check-in luggage on short-haul flights.

Edit: confused hold bags and check-in bags.

Maybe this was the case before, it just feels like it should be part of the price!

Why not just catapult me and I'll pay for the privilege?

I do try and avoid Ryanair at all costs because they are a bunch of cunts.

Sadly, they do have enormous coverage so it's not possible a lot of the time.

Yeah they're all at it, some are worse than others.

I do a fair few trips with the business a year and my partner in crime insists on taking a 20kg suitcase for a 1 night trip, it sometimes more than doubles the cost but he MUST have a hairdrier and 8 pairs of shoes.

They don't pretend they're not! I've never had an exceptionally terrible experience on any of their flights. Their stupid baggage checks machines in Portugal didn't work though and made me feel like a doddery 80 year old not understanding technology, but aside from that!

Sweet Jesus, I'd really got into the leisurely, replyless nature of August. Which cunt turned the tap on this week and why would they do that while I'm coming down like a pile of bricks?

I know Ryanair are upfront about being basic as fuck but adopting a meme as a business strategy isn't good. Every time I have to fly with them I say never again until the next inevitable 6am only option.

I've become a bit like this these days, perhaps it's because I went a good few years without going overseas. I'm just as happy jumping in the car and driving to a holiday in the UK *

*except for the weather of course

I dont care anymore. I'm at Majorca airport waiting for our connection. A pretty fabulous journey all in all.
