I woke up with sticky, gunky eyes and didn't put two and two together
 
Discovered last night that I couldn't eat even semi-solid mushy food without full-on bleeding starting again so had to manage with cup-a-soups to enable me to have Ibuprofen and cocodamol. Didn't sleep well due to the Ibuprofen making my asthma worse but controlled it with lots of tokes on the inhaler. Woke up at 6am today, dying for a pee so went into the bathroom and did my stuff. As I left the bathroom I looked in the mirror and my lips were grey-blue! Half-panicking as to why I was cyanotic and should I call an ambulance or just wait for the doc to open at 7am I met Mr F on the landing and he reminded me that when he came in my room at half eleven last night I was eating a blue-raspberry slush puppy and crowing about how soothing it was.

I find it really strange that as someone who can get BAD hayfever and is asthmatic etc, that I never get the slightest bit of hayfever this time of year. It actually doesn't start until mid May ish and doesn't really get bad until June. Something to do with trees vs flowers apparently. Nice to know I'm not allergic to EVERYTHING
 
You'd be very unlucky if you were allergic to ALL pollen. Mine usually peaks in April, which apparently is peak birch pollen. And I have a birch wood about 30 metres from my house.

I seem to be clear of it by the time most people get it in the summer. And it's usually kept at bay by cheap antihistamines.
 
Yeah antihistamines do the trick for me too thankfully, although I'm pretty sure they cause heart flutters :D :bruised:

Some bastard trees cause me problems between now and about May.

Worst thing is that it triggers all kind of things if I don't watch myself.
 
My hayfever is mild as I take an antihistamine all year round for other things, but it’s usually right at the start and right at the end of spring/ summer
 
I just popped a cetirizine. Slightly better than loratidine in terms of making you feel a bit woozy, but not as good as those prescription ones that go lovely with a sherry and a glug of Night Nurse.
 
Im so grateful I don't get hay fever.

I'm currently trying to shift a cruise/plane cough.

And also, headaches in high humidity are not nice. I've had one every day since being in Bali.
 
The ONLY positive to evil hayfever, is that it's proof your immune system still exists, even if it's behaving in a braindead fashion.

Supposedly hayfever gets better when you're old and your immune system can't do even stupid things effectively. So hurrah for sneezing I guess?

Oh here's me about to make a post about how I seem to have grown out of hay fever in recent years.

DEAD BY JUNE!

NB: I hate that hay fever is two words. It definitely feels like a one-word word.

You might need to train yourself back up. Roll around in grass, roam around sniffing trees, eat lots of pollinating bees etc.

Usually I'm prone to hayfever (more the grass pollen later in summer) and sneezing and dry eyes 😅 but I've had no issue with that today. Then again I did have a really bad headache and other aches most of yesterday and the day before. I haven't been outside for long, but nice sunny/breezy weather ☀️ 🩵 🍃
 
OT: The record player I sent off for repair before Christmas has FINALLY been declared lost by FedEx, which means the shop I sent it through is replacing it with a BRAND NEW ONE of the same ilk, which is £399 worth.

Considering it was £80 off ebay a few years back and is my second player that I use in my office and I was expecting a hefty repair bill anyway, I am RATHER FUCKING PLEASED :disco:
 
OT2: And almost straight after, the hospital rang to tell me they have had a cancellation and do I want to go in tomorrow and work out what's going to happen with this DAMNED appendix, which I've been chasing for weeks as well... HOORAY!
 
I have a CT scan this Saturday in bloody Ipswich (eurgh).

Although I did go out shopping this afternoon and got a nice haircut, which has improved my mood despite hay-fever, fatigue and it's foggy.
