Wednesday trims the hedge for a bit of therapy.

In the office. There's little more than festive fannying-about going on now. Happily, in my little corner, I can ignore most of it.

Work Christmas party tonight. I have so much to do tomorrow I can’t even get too pissed so don’t really see the point.

In fact I have to come in early tomorrow.

Also my boss is approaching his 10th month of sobriety so no cocaine for me.

I wouldn’t mind but he was much more productive when he was a drug addict.

Nurse appointments for me today, the ones I should have had in October. Just realised that this time next week it's Christmas Day. Really should pull my finger out and get prezzies bought.

BTW, it's me who's putting the "le tits now" tag on everything. For some reason, I'm finding it especially funny this year which is probably evidence of a mental decline of some sort. But let's face it, it's been on the cards for long enough.

Mrs Beverley's xmas present has been lost in the post and ordering the same thing won't arrive til Jan. Not sure what to do now. Don't want her to be disappointed. :(

I ordered a CD (I know how old fashioned) for Mr S that's showing no sign of appearing. I'm going to have to DOWNLOAD the FILES and MAKE IT MYSELF :eyes:

In other news Mr S was moaning he ONLY has QUITE A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF SAVINGS left despite not working for the last 7 years. FETCH ME THE MICROSCOPE MAUD I'VE MISLAID MY VIOLIN

The OXFAM shop is shut due to LACK OF VOLUNTEERS and HOTEL CHOCOLAT want TWENTY QUID for THREE 'STOCKING FILLERS'

PLUS I had to queue up for AN AGE to get my money back in WAITROSE as the WINE on the SHELF was some CHEAP MUCK and not the FINE WINE as LABELLED below. HONESTLY WHAT A LIFE

Blagged my way through a high blood pressure reading at the asthma check again then had a smear test. I already get stressed out sitting in the waiting room with sick people and it didn't help when typhoid Brian came and sat right next to me and proceeded to noisily clear his sinuses and cough and splutter his filthy germs in my direction.

I don't know why they bother with blood-pressure checks at the doctors as you can always say WELL I ALWAYS FEEL REALLY STRESSED WHEN I'M AT THE DOCTORS. Then they say well why don't you POP IN and USE THE DIY ONE in the CORRIDOR. Like that's going to be any LESS STRESSFUL.

I have spent the morning FREAKING OUT. I got another bunch of flowers ( a beautiful FESTIVE bouquet) delivered today. No card this time, but I assumed it was from my secret admirer again. My mother called around 20 minutes ago to ask if I liked the flowers she sent me today.

I NEED A DRINK.

I assumed it was @big ron

SORRY RONALD

She said if it's still high next time she'll give me one of their monitors for a week so I can do readings at different times. I said yes but we both know I'll just lie :D Anything to avoid the 24 hour automatic one that the hospital dishes out.

One of my friends had one of those. They discovered that what stressed her out was "being awake".

I had one too after I kept getting high blood pressure readings at the doctors.

Thought it was quite fun. And my blood pressure is fine.

Just been shopping and am probably 80% complete in terms of gifts and cards. Town was rammed although the mood was largely jovial. I am now dead across the board.

Need gin or maybe even some festive liqueur.

Do we have a topic for GETTING OLDER, because I am gathering multiple complaints.

I thought we did somewhere

I'm sure I've fallen apart more this last year than ever before.

I think that's pretty much the whole forum now.

We should see if the domain oooh-me-back.co.uk is available

I actually did a little gasp at the thought of not being LONG FINISHED for Christmas shopping.

A book came through today I'd forgotten I ordered months ago as a stocking filler for Mr Sheena and that's already given me a whole lot of "BUT I'LL HAVE TO GET THE WRAPPING PAPER BACK OUT" anxiety :D

Got the price of my Christmas accommodation down to £600 before I booked it. It was £1100 a few weeks ago. Sometimes DITHERING PAYS OFF :disco:

I stopped being stressed about Christmas a LONG time ago. These days I only have to buy presents for my mum and Mr K. My mum was sorted weeks ago when I took her out shopping and she bought some clothes, and I got her some perfume to open on Christmas Day. Mr K wants a new iPad so I gave him money towards that and got a couple of things off Amazon for under the tree.
I think I spent all of maybe an hour sorting out presents. All I’ve got left to do is pick up the food order from Marks and Spencer and buy some wine. I don’t see why people get stressed about it all. It’s just one day

I try my best to be organised and that way things usually work out OK. All my presents are bought and wrapped, and I am also going for M&S this year, and shall collect on the morning of the 23rd. I have enough booze here to sink a ship, so I just need to get my food and cook which I really enjoy. 15 people sounds quite intimidating, but I am relishing the challenge.

Shouldn't MR SHIRL be covering the cost of this, or does he not want to dip into his measly 16K of savings?

We have a little elderly lady in town who spends all day and night walking around with her trolley. She has no family, and last year I invited her up here for Christmas dinner and drinks with me and the family when I saw her a few days before Christmas. I got her address and sent a taxi down for her at 12pm. Early in the New Year she was crossing the road with her trolley and got hit by a car. She was not seriously injured, but I have not bumped in to her since the Summer when she said that she had the best Christmas with us last year. I have not had the chance to invite her this year, and I can not for the life of me find her address that I sent the taxi to last year. :(

I need Next to get something to me and it's due tomorrow. Will wrap tonight.

Can you call the taxi company? They will probably still have it on their records.

My George Foreman grill is on the blink so I spent 20 minutes on the phone to AO who then transferred me to George Foreman's customer service whose hold music kept telling me I was the next call to be answered for 25 minutes then two minutes to discover it was a faulty heating element only for them to transfer me back to AO with an uplift number for another twenty minutes. I gave AO the uplift number and they then had to contact George Foreman to validate the number before they'd send me a new one. I could've driven to AO and picked one up quicker than the time I spent on the phone listening to the Blue Danube Waltz on a loop.

I'm more stressed after a day of (very successful) Xmasing than I was before I had nothing.

Ha! I moaned about that CD and they just replied and said OH SOZ WE'RE BUSY, but I see they've now sent it out FAST TRACKED DELIVERY.
