it's grey here, I'm gonna go for an explorative run and then do two hours of French (self imposed daily minimum).

Back in my office, which feels LOVELY...bit of normality. Fucking exhausted but still went to the gym- FUCK YOU JET LAG!
 
Took a day off because (a) I'm a bit frazzled and (b) it's the only day off available until September. Yuk.
 
I love having a job where my leave doesn't depend on whether others are in or not. It used to fuel such resentment when I worked in an office and there were endless discussions about who 'needed' or 'deserved' it more. And God Forbid people without children daring to ask for any leave in school holidays. Fuck off.

The only time it's vaguely an issue for us is ensuring minimal phone cover over Christmas. And even then I think there are usually enough people who volunteer to do it so that nobody who wants the leave is denied it. Certainly over the last few years, anyway.

I threatened a boss with discrimination over this once. She used to take every Christmas period off cause “she had kids”. Utter bullshit.
