Been to the launderette (again), been for a swim, bought coffee, had breakfast and now waiting for 2pm to arrive so I can go out and PROPERLY ON IT for the day

I’m back in Paris after being away for three weeks and it seems like summer is OVER!

Well it was literally GALE type WINDS and some torrential rain in the morning on Brighton seafront yesterday which kind of kept MOD-WEEKENDER and all their bikes at bay which was kind of nice given its been relentless this summer with Fatboy Slim, Pride, and just no let up from the heat. I kind of now want the heat back after the grass and plants have finally got a soaking. We are never happy are we with the weather.

And did you check your 0-60 time after Toll Plaza? That's what spawn and I used to do.

When I had my lovely old Astra (Big Red) Mr F used to ask whether I'd redlined it yet all the time. I only knew that redlining was getting the revs up to the red line on the revcounter and thought something great would happen, like the turbo would roar and I'd get a massive oomph of speed. So I redlined the car after Toll Plaza one day and learned what really happens. Nearly cacked my pants and thought I'd broken the car.

0-60 is the time it takes for your car to go from standing still to 60mph by flooring the accelerator pedal. Big Red used to do it in about 7.5 seconds, Lickle Red takes about 8.5 seconds because the engine is smaller. Toll Plaza is a massive row of toll booths and when you get out of the other side of it there's a massive expanse of empty motorway, ideal for this type of shenanigans.

Redlining the car makes it remove all power instantly to protect the engine.
