What Are You Watching? 2023

That is strange. Are you going in to the search function and searching for it? Is it possibly because I am in Scotland? I don’t think I have ITVX, but it is showing as STV rather than ITV.

Thank you. I've eventually found STV player on demand but no sign of Nolly, I think perhaps we don't get the new catch up stuff here. Oh well.

ITVX isn't on Sky Q boxes yet. God knows why it's taking so long.

We stream X through the TV as it has the ITV Hub which is still called as such but it's X.

Or are you back in Scotland now @Rita ?

I haven’t kept up if you’ve made the big move back yet

I’m back in Scotland just now, yes. Hopefully making a permanent move to Ireland at the end of the Summer.

Just put Hotel Portofino on as well. I see the son with the interesting accent is related to Dame Judi Dench. I thought they were going a bit gay with him but the lady in the sheet says not.

Halfway through the second episode of Nolly, loving it so far. Love Nolly having so many gays in her life :disco: Enjoying that Jane Rossington is a pretty big supporting character, I have very fond memories of her character when Crossroads came back in 2001.

I've started watching Pamela Anderson's Home Renovation on More4, just because I'm curious about the lives of the stars and seeing how she spends her days beyond wandering around her remote beachside estate and facetiming Julian Assange in jail etc (free him!).

I realised about 10mins in that they must be playing the episode at 1.5 speed to fit in the timeslot, so everyone sounds like they're on amphetamines which is a nice pick me up after a long day.

Search Party on the BBC. Episode one of the second season was a hoot.

Finished Everyone Else Burns, I highly recommend. Ridiculous but really charming with it.

I'm still on terrestrial pace on Our Flag Means Death. So good, it has definitely got better as it had progressed. Bless at the whittled finger.

Also. Quite enjoyed the latest American horror story, raced through the last six episodes over two nights

Has anyone seen the Welcome To Chippendales series on Disney+/Hulu?

I had no idea about this story. Binged the whole lot in a weekend. Also what a great central performance from Kumail Nanjiani!

American Horror Story: Double Feature (season 10 of 11). I'm onto episode 5. After a slow start, it has got going enough, although I've just read that (surprise surprise) the whole thing ends ridiculously abrupt. The "double feature" also appears to begin on episode 7.

I was the same, but like so many disappearing shows it has miraculously turned up on Disney+

Onto episode 7. Same season, completely different plot. I can't imagine the 2 parts coming together, but we'll see - if they don't then they really should have just made them separate mini series. Getting Pleasantville (1998) vibes.

Lily Rabe's performance as Amelia Earhart here is giving Bebe Glazer energy. On a sidebar, Harriet Harris would have been a great series regular on this franchise.

Did anyone catch Desperate Measures on channel 5 with Amanda Abingdon? I have just read about it and it sounds RIGHT UP MY STREET although I’m not sure how good the dramas are on Channel 5? I quite enjoyed the one with Sheridan Smith as the teacher but don’t think I’ve watched anything else.

Well the 2 gays are hot, but episode 7 wasn't all that and I'm taking a break. I still have Last of Us episode 6.

I've watched a few in the last year or two, and there's nearly always a sense of 'yeah, that would have been better with a BBC/ITV/Netflix production budget'.

I think a lot of the Channel 5 dramas are not great, even when the cast looks promising. I stuck with the Sheridan Smith one, but have binned others pretty quickly. There was one with Jason Watkins recently that I did not take to.

I have seen a two or three of them turn up later on Netflix and maybe surprisingly land in their top ten as well.

The new one is about a bank clerk whose son gets in trouble due to drugs which leads to her carrying out a bank heist at her place of work.

There was an Australian drama on Channel 5 over Christmas with Ciaran Griffiths and Jo Joyner, that was high camp nonsense. :disco:

Poker Face has been fun so far
Just started watching it, I like it. Actually, I noticed there are not so many interesting TV shows, agree? I recently bought a streaming device but can't find something to watch.

Still watching Hotel Portofino. I've just seen a second series of this hot fluff is already in the can with the renewal for a third recently announced.

Natascha McElhone really is the height of ham in it.

Finishing off S10 American Horror Story. 2 episodes left. Act 2 is definitely more interesting, but I'm still at a loss as to why they didn't just flesh out both as standalone seasons.

We've just finished The Light in the Hall, that was good.

We also watched The Catch. That was average.

I think I am going to binge Desperate Measures today. I have read mixed reviews but it does look right up my street.

Funny Woman is more intermittently likeable, but it picked up quite a bit after a not very good first episode. Tom Bateman is a very handsome git.

Last Call the Midwife of the series tonight. I think some fresh blood is definitely needed for next year's run.

I am so sad it is ending for another year and I will not get to watch the gorgeous Olly Rix each week.
