What Are You Watching? 2023

Yes, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but the first episode really had me glued, and jumpy! I thought it was quite edgy for the BEEB too.

Juliet Stevenson is superb and that lead actor is quite DISHY

Also currently in Annika with Nicola Walker.

Up to Ep 4 of Wolf now, and had to actively stop myself from watching the next few so I can look forward to it. Gripped all the way through. The Killers are quite comical aren't they, remind me of a more sinister version of the Home Alone duo

That reminds me I need to start Colin from Accounts. I need something light hearted after I start locking the doors after WOLF

Just watched the first episode of The Power Of Parker. Don't think I'll bother with the rest.

Finished Wolf last night - excellent and I didn't expect that ending, so was gripped all the way to the end which does not usually happen.
What with the info at the end about his younger brother, and the relationship with Maia there is definitely scope for a second series

For me it was one of those rare thrillers with a conclusion that managed to be both surprising AND entirely satisfying.

I hope it'll come back, though they'll deffs have their work cut out making it as much fun as s1 with Honey and Molina now dead.

Yes agree, I was thinking it would be hard to beat or match the scenario with those two, don't know much about the creator Megan Gallagher but I'd like to see more from her.

The writer of the book series this was based on died a few years ago :(

'Wolf' was the seventh / final one in the series, but there were 6 others all featuring the main cop guy. Not sure if the first six were ALL SHITE or this just felt like a good jumping on point and they'll take stuff from the others for future series.

any second series for this would have to be totally from scratch then, given this was the last in the books. Although yes I think you maybe right, I reckon they may continue from where Wolf left of and then flash back using the other books material...

I like her, but this is DIFFERENT. I didn't realise it was a different story each episode, and she talks to the camera like she's SJP in early SATC. I'll perceiver. I do like 'Wolf' actor :horny:

. you're looking to enhance your streaming setup, consider exploring Firestick apps.

Finally got round to finishing Wolf last night. Very enjoyable, though the show was definitely stolen by Sacha Dhawan and Iwan Rheon. I Think We're Alone Now :disco:

Also finally wrapped up Search Party this week. The previous seasons were great but the last one was a very rough ride, barring the final few episodes.

Now have season two of The Bear on the go and belatedly started Rain Dogs with Daisy May Cooper.

I must remember to watch that Bridget Christie comedy I forget the name of on All 4.

Started watching The Reunion with Ioan Gruffudd and Gregory Fitoussi last night, but it was ridiculous so knocked it on the head, and just told Mr L to keep it in the memory if the lovely Gregory shows flesh.

I binged through S2 of Starstruck last night, which is great fun.

Been watching Manifest on Netflix AND Now TV. I must say it's become a real chore by the last series. Really struggling.

Decided to watch Annika as well.

What did you think, I am on S1 E4 and its a slog. Whats keeping me interested is the relationships between mother and daughter and that kind of stuff, the actual plots for the crimes are very dull. Just how many dead bodies do they find in these waters?!

I know I complain about it every year but TV really is slim pickings at this time of year.

I love Starstruck. The third series is out the week after next:
Good. It's a great vehicle for Rose Matafeo. But the flatmate is by far the funniest character. Great star turn from Minnie Driver camping it up too.

I was absolutely AGOG reading this as thought you were both taking about THIS STARSTRUCK.

Is Sheridan Smith currently in something on the west end? She hasn’t had a drama out in ages.

She did Shirley Valentine between February and June this year, her last TV was Rosie Malloy Gives Up Everything which was quite well-received so it wouldn't surprise me if there was a second series.

Thrilled to discover that Channel 4 (when did they rename All 4?) have got Terry and Julian available on streaming, and I think I'm going to try and see it all off tonight :disco:

The Channel 4 streaming rebrand was a few months ago. Very confusing. I'm sure people still call it 4OD anyway.

The Bear season 2 really hit its stride with the unusually calm episode with Marcus and hot chef Luca. The next one was great too, I like Sugar featuring more.

I've only watched two of Henpocalypse! so far but I really loved the second one. Looking forward to seeing where this spirit animal situation goes.

At least Celebs Go Dating starts tomorrow night.

Is this series worth giving a go? I think I need something light-ent and nightly to watch to compliment all my GRITTEH DRAMAHS

New Ruth Wilson drama Woman in the Wall starting tomorrow BBC1 looks worth a watch

New series of The Tower starting on ITV1 tonight, I didn't see the first series, is it worth a watch?
