Currently got Graham Norton on to catch Alison Limerick :disco:

Also now remembering I love Laura Dern (another sole guest on the couch) and want to watch all her films.
 
Jane McDonald's New Year's Eve Singalong (Channel 5).

Victoria Wood was eerily accurate with our Jane. Kudos to her: she's made her shtick seem almost unmissable when she tours.

The teams singalong aspect I could do without, but here she is making Sheena Easton shit the bed with a sturdy Giving Up, Giving In. And now even more ABBA following a medley a whole 5 minutes ago.
 
Nice of them to show the entire remaining set list in the preview before commercial. Poor Jane doesn't have the range for some of these proud Mary's pandering classics. I fear she came out full-pelt and it's only downhill so I'm off.
 
Catching up with last nights NYE Graham Norton too. Always here for Laura Dern but Alison Limerick is a surprise sole guest musical performer, not yet on the sofa.

Stuff I binged over the Christmas holidays:

The Beast in Me — mini-series thriller starring Clare Danes. Brilliant casting all around, great twists, keeps you on the edge of your seat. A bit of a predictacle ending but anyway, watch it!

FUBAR — Arnold Schwarzenegger action comedy. Actually very entertaining and shame they seem to have cancelled it. Maybe because the end of season two sees Russia as the enemy and it’s no longer the US mentality?
 
I think I'm four episodes into The Beast In Me. Enjoying it so far. Claire Danes is always good value and Matthew Rhys does shifty in the extreme very well.
 
Yes! They are spectacular. Also special mention to Britanny Snow, albeit a smaller part, I really like her in this.
 
The Beast In Me entertained me, but it went from excellent for the first half of it or so, and then pretty run of the mill by the end.
 
Still watching Landman season 2 as it airs. It's better for a binge and Demi is still sporadic in her screen time even if it has increased, but I guess I'm a sucker for anything Texas.

Oh my days, we're practically getting a sequel to Demi losing it in front of the mirror scene from The Substance (2024).
 
I’m loving it. But then I love the USA and Australia versions

Worry this will flop though

The Hunting Wives - I think I would have enjoyed this more had it been more about their day to day lives and the difference between the New York girl trying to fit in with the Texas h0s but it just went into another murder. Watchable though.

I have started the first episodes of this, its watchable enough to continue. It took me a while to realise the main girl is Brittany Snow! I knew she was familiar but was thinking an Olsen Sister or someone similar.
 
I'm watching The Hunting Wives at TV broadcast pace. Fun trash so far, though I can't help but wonder if the rest of the cast backed out of any nudity at the last minute without telling Malin Akerman.

The lovely Leo Suter, I think I first saw him as a tragic gay in Jenna Coleman's Victoria. Also in the recent Vikings spin off.

Just finished Harlan Coben's Run Away, which was thoroughly enjoyable crap TV. I don't know if I was more transfixed by Alfred Enoch's arse or James Nesbitt's hair transplant. It felt like a Channel 5 drama on steroids, but with a far more generous budget.

I don't think I've ever watched a Harlan Coben before, but think I may well try a couple more now. I didn't realise there were so many though - does anyone have any recommendations?

I thought the first episode was interesting but the second one with the brother was so involving. The lead is really excellent.
 
Belatedly watched Trespasses with Gillian Anderson (in miserable lush mode) and Lola Petticrew on Channel 4. Excellent, especially the final episode, slightly cute epilogue notwithstanding.

This is REALLY good. So well written, and acted. I think this has been my favourite for quite a while.

I think I'm addicted. We've now also watched Safe (Michael C Hall's English accent being occasionally quite good) and Fool Me Once. They are essentially all the same and utterly compulsive rubbish.

We've started on Missing You now, but after the first episode I've opted out. Think I need to give it a break before trying again.
 
Season 2 finale of Landman.

It's over the top, borderline offensive, over-the-line offensive and such glossy trash. Really going to miss it for a TV fix.
