What Are You Watching? 2026 (1 Viewer)

Two Weeks in August was a slog but worth it for Damien Molony’s short shorts. Picked up for the big reveal midway and the finale was pretty decent. It seemed to do that Succession “yeah, no, but” chat thing but not very well and most scenes just seemed to drag on.

The Five-Star Weekend was at least two episodes two long. I know it has done well and I've just seen it has been renewed, but I'm not sure I need to see more of these characters.

I've started Possession on Sky. So far I am intrigued.

We won't be subjected to Mrs Brown's Boys this Christmas and New Year

@FetchFugly The new series of Bookish starts next week

Bookish is basically a post WW2 cosy‑crime show about a sharp, quietly queer bookseller / detective who can spot a lie at twenty paces. He moves through these theatrical little murder scenes — libraries, theatres, séance rooms — peeling back everyone’s performances while keeping up his own lavender marriage for social convenience.

Adults on Disney+. One of those things I meant to watch at the time and didn't get round to. It feels like a less PG update to the friend group type comedies, quite good fun. The new season starts next week.

I started talking about my fascination with Bertrada of Laon with a hot guy I'm getting far too carried away with for my own good, and he recommended Wheel of Time (2021-25) as apparently it focuses mostly on women. So...

I am watching:

Wheel of Time. Starting now.

Oh I'm liking it. It's giving Xena meets The Hobbit, like a lost and restored channel 5 90s poster series. Onto episode 2 after I make a coffee.

So I am just catching up with watching The Dark which I think everyone was talking about a few weeks/month ago. OMG I love it, the end of the first episode is absolutely CHILLING. Doesn't help I am watching it about midnight each night. Windows get locked. Although I'm way too old to be targeted. On episode 4.

Just started The F Ward. Australian medical dramedy randomly starring Anna Friel.
This is actually very good! On the last episode now.

Has anyone seen Van der Valk, was gonna give it a go
I watched my first episode of it last week. It was the last one of the current series, so the background stories were lost on me (and from what I saw, I didn't particularly care for any of the characters, except for Azan Ahmed as a fit sergeant), but as a crime drama, it was good.

Binged The Dark and now onto TIP-TOE - its so Russell T Davies by numbers so far, but I enjoyed the first episode.

The first story on Bookish didn't really grab me, but the characters are enough to make me continue.

I've binged the second season of Adults over the weekend. It is a step up from the first and kind of scratches a Gen Z Happy Endings itch.
