I associate it with the great album it is, and it’s not bad, but the Like a Prayer cover… what’s so good about it? I loved her dark hair back then, it would’ve made for a great cover over the hands.

True Blue is without a doubt the most iconic, but it's not actually one of my favourites. I never loved the image itself.

1. True Blue. Undeniable and that short hair must have marked such a shocking change at the time
2. Ray of Light. The warmest photo ever and likely the prettiest she's ever been. If springtime were a photo
3. Madonna. The mole, the style, the expression. Star quality since the gate
4. Confessions II. I think, like the album itself, this will go down as one of her best. She keeps the pink and red thing from the original but it's an upgrade imo, and the veil is iconic. I also love the black text, obviously a nod to all the burned CDs you'd see at clubs in the 90s with sharpie written on it
5. Like a Prayer. Interesting that she didn't choose one of her fantastic dark-haired shots (the single cover is definitely album cover material), but this one has always struck me, and it's awesome on vinyl. She really followed up True Blue with a picture of her midriff and some rings.
