1989 Janet Jackson - Rhythm Nation 1814
1992 Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes
2002 Dixie Chicks - Home
2017 Blondie - Pollinator

Choosing just one for 1989 was absolutely brutal. On the other hand, the Chicks had basically no competition for 2002 and 2017 had a lot of albums that I liked but almost none that jumped out as my favourite of the year - even Pollinator is not an all-time classic, just a very good album that I listened to a lot

1992 - Nurse With Wound - Thunder Perfect Mind
2002 - The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots
2017 - The Fall - New Facts Emerge

'89 and '92 were the toughest years but Thunder Perfect Mind is a materpiece. '02 was a shitter. I remain so grateful that The Fall went out on a high.
