What do you think of when you hear the word Birmingham?

Continuing our scintillating tour around the cities of the UK and beyond, what springs to mind when you hear about Birmingham?
 
I always thought the CURRY MILE was a Brum thing, but Google is taken over by links to Manchester.

I've been a few times. I didn't hate it, but then I find all cities QUITE EXCITING.
 
I've never been, but I think about how one of our former posters was attacked by homophobes there and lost some of the hearing in one ear. It hasn't exactly made me RUSH to book a train ticket, I'll say that much.
 
I have only been a couple of times to go to concerts. The central canalside bit is quite pleasant. The rest of it is one great big MEH.
 
I have no idea why Birmingham is a population centre. That accent dries me right up.
 
Yeah I thought it looked pretty shiny when I went there.

Convenient Prowler Store near the main station.
