Something that has frustrated the hell out of me this morning: Mr F and I both have Prescription Prepayment Certificates which means we both pay Β£11.45 a month by direct debit, we both have the same address and our direct debits come from the same joint bank account. This morning I rang the NHS to change the direct debit details as our current bank account is closing. Normally banks will do a direct debit switch but RBS just kept saying they can't do that because the account is "not suitable for switching" so I'm having to ring every "supplier" I pay DDs to. Rang the NHS and changed my DD, took about fifteen minutes. Then asked whether I could change Mr F's and they wouldn't do it without him ringing them separately. I tried the common sense "I'm trying to pay you, you can see his details are the same as mine other than his name, the bank details are the same and the one I want to change it to is the same!" but she just kept saying no, he has to ring himself.
Honestly, it's ridiculous.
