Anyway - all sarcasm aside, I streamed DELIRIUM quite a lot at the weekend and decided it's a pretty good album, and likely her best.
Feel free to include all deluxe/reissue versions in your assessments when you vote.
 
I haven't listened to either of the first two in ages, but from recollection Halcyon was really good.
 
Is Halcyon the one that wound up having about 35 tracks with all the reissues she did?
 
HALCYON was my favourite for ages but I dunno.. last weekend I found loving DELIRIUM so much.
I must say I have an air of 'I don't know her' about the two subsequent ones.
 
it's really very difficult to choose.

Halcyon is a masterclass in songwriting, very emotionally raw breakup album, big electro bangers that sounded like nothing else out there, gorgeous tender balladry, overall a strong wintery/christmas album feel and it's ageing like wine.

Delirium is just a fucking great big pop record, sixteen tracks with three fillers at most, hooks on hooks on hooks, the biggest and catchiest songs of her career, and considering the huge array of songwriters and producers involved her voice ties it all together and makes it feel like her own sound somehow.

I guess the BETTER album is Halcyon, but perhaps my fave is Delirium
 
then again if you include the likes of You My Everything, Tessellate, Goodness Gracious, Burn (SORRY! LOVE IT!), Beating Heart etc, Halcyon CLEARLY WINS!

I WAS. It took a while but the Halcyon Days stuff is clearly up there with some of her best and I'm including BURN in that which set out to do what it does PERFECTLY. A real POLISHED TURD
 
I like the second album for what it is, but I still feel like the first album was hinting at a style and sound she would have going forward which just didn't happen, so I lost interest in her in general from that point on.

Blatant obvious attempt at making her a Katy Perry mark 2 when everything else was not working. Even Brightest Blue tops it for me.

On My Mind, Codes, Lost and Found, Something In The Way You Move, Around U (one of her WORST songs ugh) and Don't Panic (Which I love, but that's Ellie cosplaying somebody else).

Army and Devotion are amongst some of the worst songs she's ever recorded, and that's an easy feat :disco:

Powerful, Paradise and Outisde are still bangers.

ugh, Dead In The Water, Explosions, My Blood, Under Control, In My City, Ritual, Stay Awake, The Ending, Mirrors, High For this (still MIA from streaming) banger after banger. 10/10.
 
Lights is so much more nostalgic than the other ones for me, and I've listened to it about 100 times more, so its hard to compare. But I do think Halcyon is probably her peak.

I like the first 4 a lot
 
I was leaning towards Lights but I will show Higher Than Heaven some love. Very good (floppy) pop songs top to bottom.

There are some high highs on Delirium but overall it's just too bloated and inconsistent. Halcyon is long but nearly every song has its charm. I'd happily use very nearly all of Halcyon but Delirium needs more cherry picking.

The original Lights was almost perfect (The writer just a bit saccharine) but it just clicked and with me and had it on constant repeat. Halcyon also works really well as an album but is more of a mood piece, I need to be in the right frame of mind but still love it.
Afterwards the quality went off a cliff and everything just felt like it could have been recorded by any old random.
