WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE KITCHEN APPLIANCE OR GADGET OR UTENSIL?

I'm quite partial to a WHISK. amazing how it mixes eggs so much nicer than a fork, and so easy to wash up afterwards. :)

I have also been known to fangirl over wooden spoons. every great kitchen must have at least three and they must be chunky.

ESPRESSO MACHINE

Although for some reason I’m also very fond of my garlic press

For the time being I suppose it would be my hand blender multi-way set thingy. Invaluable for the compact kitchen.

Or my beautiful Green Pans of course if they count.

So far from the responses I wanna hear REASONS too.

I don't trust anyone from Moopy with a phallic object

100% knife. There's nothing you can't do with a knife.
Exactly. Very versatile and easy to play with friends and family members of a new family and the other people are still coming out to celebrate their birthdays in this one point in time and they will never be even a real person.

BAN the first person who says their MORTAR AND PESTLE.

Does ANYONE actually call it that and not a PESTLE AND MORTAR? I’m now worried I’ve been doing it WRONG all these years.

I've just bought GOOD KNIVES with the kitchen upgrade- I've gone ZWILLING AND HENKEL and have all their knives on a magnetic knife rack and all their utensils on a HANGY THING. Cost about £500 for the lot but they're all amazing.

I now need GOOD PANS, but I can't decide. I wanted copper, but they don't work on induction so I'm a bit STUCK as to where to go to next. They need to be FANCY as they'll be on display.

My mother's belief that a midnight burglar would grab them and stab you to death has always made me struggle with the idea of having knives out.

Despite the fact that we used to laugh at her and point out that anyone who had the gumption to break in would probably be able to open a kitchen drawer, I've never quite got past it.

My George Foreman grill and griddle. I can make a full English on it with the minimum of effort, even the fried eggs because half of it is a normal George with a lid and the other half is a flat hotplate grill. I don't remember the last time I had to use a frying pan.

Obviously the fridge, freezer, washer, oven, dishwasher and tumble dryer go without saying.

My Kenwood chef. The dough hook is just a godsend. So nice having fresh bread several times a week

Depends what you want.

Le Creuset stainless are great, Mauviel even better. What you want with SS is TRI-PLY.

For carbon steel pans which you can season deBuyer all the way. They are great value for money too and are just awesome all around.

Le Creuset or Staub enamel ironware is expensive but an investment.

Copper won't work on induction because it's not magnetic but tbh the benefits you are gaining from the precision heat control of induction cancel out the advantages of cooking with copper on a conventional gas burner so you're essentially just paying for the aesthetic. And to keep copper staying nice and polished takes some work anyway.

Oh I also love my ROLLING PIN. I have fond memories of my grandmother wacking our bums with her rolling pin back home :D Legitimately one of the most powerful household objects.

I remember Mr F questioning why I had to pick up every type of wooden rolling pin and smack it into my other hand to see whether it was heavy enough and was it really for hitting people with and not rolling pastry out.

I have a cast iron Skillet which I absolutely love now. Had to go through the faff of seasoning it and it doesn’t go in the dishwasher but now I’ve got a good layer of oil on it it cleans so easy. And if I do ruin it by some chance I just burn the residue off and give it a quick season. It’s great for proteins and pizzas.

My air fryer! It is so quick and easy and makes me actually want to cook things
