Latin was fun because you didn't have to bother with the tiresome speaking/listening exams.

Like, you could have the best vocab in the world but who can keep up with JURGEN's fast-paced account of his many, many hobbies?

We didn't even have to do writing for Latin GCSE - it was all reading

I went to a posh cunt school on a scholarship. I got bullied by the posh cunts for the whole 7 years if that helps

A very clear top 3 of maths, history, drama for me and then my A Levels were a combination of those with maths, further maths, history, law and performing arts. I actually loved school so much... thus becoming a teacher I guess!

It was a PRIVATE SCHOOL thing historically was it not? It would never have been taught in the ghetto where I was schooled - we were lucky to even have English.

Maths was my favorite but I can’t say I ever loved school. I did good just because that was what was expected.

I didn't know what sociology was until I did it.

Same here. There were 29 people in the class on the first day of college and 17 dropped out by the end of the week.

He was a RAGING alcoholic too, and regularly came into lessons drunk or hungover.

Oh I did Latin for one year (then the teacher retired) but yes it was quite interesting seeing the links with French.
Years later when I was learning Italian the language geek in me loved spotting words which were similar to French and obviously had the same root
