UK voters only sorry - it'd be interesting to follow how things go in the KEY MOOPY SEATS :disco:

Me

Constituency: Leeds South (formerly Leeds Central)
Incumbent MP: Hilary Benn (LAB)
Expected result: Safe Labour

With a boundary change I just scrape into Chingford and Woodford Green:

Constituency: Chingford and Woodford Green
Incumbent MP: Iain Duncan Smith (CON) since 1992
Expected result: Genuinely no idea. IDS was within 1000 votes in 2019 of losing to Faiza Shaheen of Labour, who is this time standing as an Independent. A vote split could see him retain the seat. A lot of the polls seem to suggest Labour but don't seem to take the Independent candidate into account at all.

Constituency: Vauxhall and Camberwell Green
Incumbent MP: Harriet Harman or Florence Eshalomi or Neil Coyle (LAB) boundary changes but it was Harriet before she retired in my old constituency
Expected result: Comfortable Labour Hold

Portsmouth South

Incumbent: Stephen Morgan, Labour. A dot of red in a sea of blue.

Likely result: Stephen Morgan, Labour, by a considerable margin. He increased his vote in 2019, after the previous Lib Dem tactical vote disappeared once people realised the student population meant that Labour could win.

Constituency: Chester South and Eddisbury.
Incumbent MP: Edward Timpson, before that ANTOINETTE SANDBACH who was slightly more :disco:
Expected result: would normally be TRUE BLUE TORY but the polls say it could be CLOSE so KEEP AN EYE OUT

I'm also pleased that I'm in one of the few constituencies this election with no Reform candidate whatsoever. (I assume someone dropped out/got caught luring underage children into their gingerbread house)

Constituency: Stratford & Bow
Incumbent MP: New seat. Notionally Labour in 2019.
Expected result: Ultra safe Labour

Constituency: North Warwickshire and Bedworth
Incumbent: Craig Tracey (Tory)
Expected result: Frustratingly close, but Labour are pulling ahead. Only been Tory here for 14 years, in fairness.

Constituency: Lichfield
Incumbent: Sir Michael Fabricant 👱‍♂️ (Conservative)
Expected result: Toss-up! Despite being nationally regarded as a buffoon, Sir Michael is actually a popular local MP and has held the seat and its predecessor for decades. The thought of Labour winning here seems quite ridiculous, but a proper Tory wipeout would mean our first Labour MP in more than 30 years.

I was on the bus from Lichfield to Atherstone last year and Fabricant was on it as well. His hair is genuinely horrific in real life.

I always forget that we live close together, my housemate works in Atherstone. Whether it's a wig or not is always a popular debate, I think it looks worse since he switched to the 2010 Justin Bieber model from the classic middle-aged Karen cut.

Hopefully Fabricant goes the same way as his LIFE PARTNER

Is your housemate at the Aldi by any chance? Up close Fabricant’s hair had a look of matted tinsel so from a medical anomaly standpoint I kind of hope it’s real.

Constituency: Edinburgh South
Incumbent MP: Ian Murray (LAB)
Expected result: Safe Labour. They've held the seat since 1987, and the only Scottish seat they won in the 2015 and 2019 elections.

It'll probably be a close result like the West Midlands mayoral election, although Andy Street definitely had a lot more crossover popularity. At least they'll have a lot more time to wander around the heaths together :ken: (before the Tories try to make Street run for the leadership).

Constituency: Manchester Central
Incumbent: Lucy Powell (Labour)
Expected Result: Very Labour

Correct! I've kept my old job slightly further south until I can find something better round here, that's where I'll be working tonight. I've been told to expect not to finish until at least 4am. Last time the result was declared at 8am apparently :zombie:

I always thought it would feel like a long unwashed cat, so I'm glad I'm not too far off.

Constituency: Reading Central

Incumbent: Technically this is a newly created constituency, but the previous MP for the now-defunct Reading East is running here - Matt Rodda (LAB)

Expected result: Completely safe Labour seat. Reading has always been in a "red island" in a blue sea. It's home to all of the students, struggling families and London-commuters-who-can't-afford-London. All of the rich old farts have long fled to the safety of nearby Henley or Ascot.

The real battle is whether the Lib Dems or Reform can shove the Tories out of second place.

Constituency: Bristol East
Incumbent MP: Kerry McCarthy (LAB)
Expected result: Safe Labour.

Shoddy turnout, but to be expected.

Most pleased that Covid-denier Leo Mayne got a big pile of fuckall.

Disappointing Faiza got so close to being able to tell Labour to fuck themselves.

Iain Duncan Smith last seen frantically trying to cancel his holiday.

My old Head of Department at Uni, Professor Pam Cox, my local councillor and apparently neighbour, had a very nice win. Our first female MP, and first Labour MP elected since 1945. In the last 10 years we've had Lib Dem, Tory and now Labour.

You do know NI is part of the UK right? Just when you say UK voters only.

Thanks most likely to the living dead ambling towards Reform.
