When are you switching your heating on?

What’s a decent fall? It’s definitely less than 15 years as there have certainly been 2 or 3 major ones since then. One I particularly remember in early 2009 when we were knee deep in it, but I still made it to work!

Mostly every couple of years we get one nice dusting and a whole bunch of sludge.
 
I had the heating on as soon as the house got to 16 degrees and I couldn’t cope. But unlike my usual self, I’m heating only the rooms we need, for limited amounts of time, and have stopped using my office.

I would call a decent fall a good few inches. 2009 is possibly the fall she was talking about.

I'm fairly certain there have been problems in the past and sales haven't been counted when add to basket and subsequent sale haven't been done in one visit.

I think that's okay - the problem has been when you close amazon entirely leaving it in your basket, and then go back to it later to buy the item.

I thought of that and if I did any search went back to the main link and then to the basket to do the shopping. Hopefully. I had to do it like that as I was purchasing several items.

Hopefully it will be fine. It's been a while since Star gave us an update and it's probably an awful lot to post now.

Now is probably a good time to be reminding people of it anyway.
 
My central heating as broken and as I am going to do refurbish of my flat, I am not fixing until then.

I have a thick duvet and an electric blanket :D
 
Other than the despicable energy bills am I the only one that loves this time of year? A/W clothing, the colours, Halloween, Bonfire Night, Christmas, the stars at night, SNOW.
 
Obviously as long as FUCKING COVID doesn’t mess it up like the last 2 years. :argh:
 
Can anyone imagine Liz Truss trying to impose covid restrictions?! :D

Definitely the former, although it depends how often. If you just need it on a couple of times to keep the cold at bay, it’s fine to be on and off, but if you need it in more regularly, better to leave it on at a lower temp. Regardless of whether you leave it in all time, the energy only increases when the boiler needs to reheat to stabilise the temperature. So if you have it on a low heat and it’s fucking freezing outside, the boiler will need to keep coming on. It’s no different to how your fridge works really.
 
Also a good time to mention that anyone who suffers with allergies or catarrh, or in particular sinus sensitivities like I do, central heating is not good for you. You’re better off getting a nice big dressing gown or getting in bed and leaving it off for as long as you can.
 
I still think it's warm so haven't even thought about putting it on yet.
 
Haven’t had it on yet, haven’t felt it’s been needed though I have had a blanket on a couple of afternoons working from home.

I find though if I do get cold I’m better going for a walk than putting the heating on, getting blood circulating warms me up.

Its on. I’ve dropped the max temp a bit though. We live in a 120 year old house, it gets cold.
