When are you switching your heating on?

Yesterday was the first evening I thought of it. Didn't seriously consider it, but thought of it. I'll try to see September out before giving in to it.

I've been roasting at night! It hasn't dropped below 14 all night. Am I in some MICRO CLIMATE on the MERSEY?

I've just come back from Spain as well so you'd think I'd be feeling it.

I had to wear my BIG COAT when I took the dog out at 6am. It was still only 9 degrees though.

It's 15 degrees here now and isn't supposed to drop below 14 again all night. That's unseasonably warm! Not sure what COLD SNAPS you're all getting.

I coincidentally turned it on today just briefly because our heating display thing is fucked so I just wanted to make sure the heating itself was actually working and it was!

So yes technically we've had it on, but it doesn't count under the parameters of this thread thank you. :AJUnimpressed:

It’s only the second week of September :D

A morning minimum of 14 is a midsummers average up here I would wager, without being any kind of EXPERT!

I think it was a one off (for now) but I was BLOODY FREEZING. Not quite time to STOKE UP THE FIRE just yet gang.

I'm still wearing shorts too, but a light hoody is needed later in the day.

I'm just putting joggers and a fleece on so far and right now I'm still down to shorts and t-shirt anyway (although to be fair I'm doing dumbells).

Still shorts for me too, with a jumper or something top heavy. I wear shorts out and about until I absolutely can't. As long as my top half is warm, I don't feel the cold that much has to be single figures at least, although the Brighton wind is a battle.

Heating doesn't need to come on for a couple of months either. Usually after Halloween and around fireworks weekend

I’d imagine that @Iguana demands a dry, arid environment though.

I’ve had it on to DRY MY BED-SHEETS. Otherwise no but have found myself popping on a CARDI of an EVENING.

I’m usually RELUCTANT to put it on to begin with but once it is on I find it hard to STOP and will be blasting it throughout APRIL.

I do though REFUSE to be cold, I remember living in an enormous draughty flat in Glasgow as a student which we couldn’t afford to heat and I will never be that MISERABLE again!

Feeling kind of chilly today girls.

Coming home after nearly a month away is going to be a fucking shock to the system. I was in the hammock in the balcony before I left and now you’re talking about heating!

It's really not cold.

It's not SUMMER anymore. But it's still a temperate 17c even in the WILD NORTH

It hasn't been THAT cold - I don't think it dipped below 12° here even in the middle of the night. But it's just been overcast, pissing down or drizzle and generally DAMP for about a week which just make everything feel worse.

And needing to turn a light on to read at about 7pm last night also made it hit hard.

After 8 years of having central heating that doesn't work, we finally got ours fixed this year, so technically we can use it now. But I think we're going to stick to the oil filled radiators still.

No heating until at least the end of October tho!

Mine was on for an hour on Sunday to dry some washing. It would have been on for an hour this morning before my shower but it needs a new pump. The boilerman rigged it yesterday so we could get warm, not hot, water out of it for washing etc. but said don't run the heating till the new pump's fitted. So I shivered through my shower. :(

I've got the heating on at work though.

This is the first day I've considered it in months. Last September was particularly sunny and warm, no repeat this year. :(

I sort of squatted in a house that was a big old fridge. Single glazing, no insulation, huge rooms, draughty as fuck and on a GAS METER which was pointless as I wasn't even remotely interested in working.

We used to sit uner a duvet with a hairdryer on and still be cold.

Regretting wearing shorts and tshirt to the office today though, its fucking FREEZING in here.

Yesday day before got mind own seem on like 🤔😮😂👊🏼 vooodoo magic cold hell thought i cold peeson huhhh

Trex or liger hmmm
