When are you switching your heating on?

I'm sat in shorts and tshirt again, it was cold for a day or two but seems to have got mild again.
 
Going to be 25oc in London tomorrow - 20oc in Brighton but that will do for the sea Dip
 
So mine has been on for around the past 10 days every day. It’s meant to be 16 degrees but it doesn’t feel anything near it and looking at the forecast next week it looks like we are going down to low single figures at night so I am just going to EMBRACE IT.
 
Popped it on for an hour or two on Sunday evening, but today is about 10 degrees warmer than yesterday so the ol' boiler can hang fire again
 
One woman on a work Teams call said her husband wouldn't allow her to put it on until December, and another said that for her it has to be when the clocks go back. What is wrong with people?
 
My adjusted electricity monthly direct debit has just gone up by 30%.

Can’t wait for the gas one to land.
 
Yes, ours went up about 20% a few months back and is due to increase again in October, I think.

Mind you, we were locked in to a great deal for ages and were paying much less than most people I know, so it seems unreasonable to gripe - but it does make me think twice in terms of telling Mr L to put a cardigan on rather than turning the heating on.

I agree in principal but what don't you understand in terms if it costs a lot of people more, which might affect whether they are being 'weird' or not?
 
Coming home today, at a BBQ tomorrow, going from 34c to 18c and rain is going to be fun :)
 
I’ve just finally realised my duvet is absolutely disgusting. I need a new one but buying one is so confusing. So many options. So many price ranges :(

Weve technically had ours on all ready. Ron Jr had his on full whack and stinking because his bare feet were cold. He was sat in shorts.
 
I had it on yesterday and Tuesday but today I managed to HOLD OFF. Doing a 6am dog walk recently has been BALTIC.
 
Aye, it's well chilly here, I had it on for a wee bit today and probably will again before I hit the hay.
 
I've been blasting for an hour here and there, but to leave on for the whole day! I am still wearing shorts out and about. My legs dont get cold so as long as im wrapped up top, i'll wear shorts till it gets to the zero/minus'
 
Mine is a somewhat new build and actually really quite warm, which sucks in summer but is a treat in winter. Accordingly, ours hasn’t gone on yet. It looks like a 9 degree high next Sunday though so I wonder if that will be enough to require it, but it’s normally slightly lower when it’s needed.

I know exactly how that is Devz. I was the top floor of a new build and by god the extremes!
 
I'm far too northern/hardy/cheap to put the heating on unless there’s a legitimate risk of death, but my Dunelm Mill blanket came out of storage this week.

Bingo, I’m on the top floor. Moving to the first floor next month though and not facing the sun so will see what the difference is. Probably colder but hopefully more manageable in summer.
 
Ours still isn't on. Because we are south facing, when it's a sunny day the flat gets so hot.

Plus I'm menopausal, so our windows are still open in a lot of the flat, much to Mandy's annoyance who is freezing cold.

I might get the blanket out next week as a treat.
 
Loose Women are telling me that today is officially the day that most people turn their central heating on for the first time this year..
